  • Alright let's hope I'm the only one wrong about him, cause I never saw anything special there.

Good luck CoJo, get ready to be paraded around as the hometown hero for the All-Star Game.

    • Cap's rising so I'll get over the 7.5 mil for an 18 mpg player. Good pick up.

please enlighten me as to how, a 6'3" scoring guard and 6'6" pass first PG who both play terrific defense couldn't possibly co-exist.
Sorry, but in what world is CoJo a scoring guard? They're both defense first guards who can pass well but don't hit a lot of 3's. Wonder how that second unit will play out considering how many floor spacers he played with in SA. It'll be interesting to see just how many points other benches will manage to produce against ours.

Never stop dreaming! Can always move Lowry out if you get Murray in the draft.

          • YES love love love this pickup

Dude has championship pedigree from the best coach and arguably team in the league, and nevermind he's still really young with great potential. Terrific defender, lightning quick. In games he started for Parker he averaged like 13/5/5 or so.

Imho I think Lowry's gone. Maybe not during the offseason but if COJO plays to his potential and can prove to be as good a player in extended minutes as he's teased then Lowry's gone by the deadline. Book it.

              • Not to be overlooked. Yes it's a lot of money but I'm sure there were other teams in "more desirable" cities willing to offer it to him but within hours of becoming a free agent, he chose toronto. Lots of good wishes from the Spurs forums.

His strength is that he's not a specialist with glaring deficiencies - he's solid on O and D. To have that at his age gives you a dependable back-up with a precedent for improvement that suggests that he could become more.

I don't believe Lowry is gone and neither should we jump the gun based on getting a backup PG and another rookie that never hit an NBA court. What it gives the Raptors a little wiggle room and insurance if Lowry injuries/attitude/fastfood decide's to catch up with him and he derails his own career, then at least the Raptors have insurance options to deal with it.

                      • [QUOTE=DanH;491989]7.026M. So in my best-case cap assumptions (Carroll and CoJo backloaded, 69.1M cap), we have 4.1M left. In the worst case, that uses it all (7.1M).

Ridnour traded for either Donatas Motijunus or TJones, would leave us $1.7 million below the Cap, if the salaries were backloaded or Ross+ Bebe for Gibson.

                        • Yes! Masai made it happen.

Championship experience. Good defender with more potential. Hometown kid coming home.

                          Welcome home COJO!

No need to trade Ridnour. That 4.1M assumed he was waived anyway, so we can just absorb those guys into our cap space. Ridnour is useless, pretty much.

                            • Obviously I love the signing. Was hoping for a sneaky low offer, but this deal is still very good. Will be very interesting to see what MU can pull off at PF.
