Rough comparisons but would you rather have prime Billups or a young Andrei Kirilenko (these are the 2 guys I feel compare most closely)
well, the choice is really between a few years of prime lowry vs. a decade of Giannis, including his prime. It's more a question of timing than anything else.

In general I wouldn't have made that trade. We were very lucky that things turned out the way they did with Lowry. Remember it could easily have gone differently, we almost traded him and tanked.

Crazy thought of the day....after playing some competitive ball earlier in the season, the Knicks now seem to be resigned to tanking. Could be that Melo really is banged up OOORRRR, is PHil working with MU on a trade that involves returning the Knicks pick to NY?

I've been catching up on the new X-Files series and I'm coming up with a bunch of random conspiracy theories
If you're conspiracy theory is correct, all that would mean is Denver getting a better pick.

      Don't watch X-File. Ever.
If we knew half as much about coaching an NBA team as we think, we"d know twice as much as we do.

That pick Toronto gave up for Lowry would have been Giannis 'Po.
Really? All this time I've heard that the pick turned into Steven Adams? Pick no 15?

Pick #12. That pick *could* have been Giannis (he was taken at 15th)

It was well publicized that Masai tried very hard to trade into the draft specifically to take Giannis. If he had the 13th pick already he obviously would have taken him.

            • We'd be the Bucks if we didn't have Lowry though.

              • It's a very good short term vs long term debate.. but if the Raptors can't get out of the first round with Lowry, then having Po and playing the long game may have probably been the better choice.

Yes because the same pick would DEFINITELY have been made by a different team.

Masai tried desperately to get a pick to take Po. Thought that was well known.

Oh yea. Wonder why he couldn't get a deal done.. OKC, DAL, UTA in that range and he couldn't convince anyone to bite. Surprising.

Raptors cupboards were bare.. Colangelo didn't leave Masai with much to work with.

Not true cause Demar would have been moved for assets as well and we would have a core of a top draft pick, Giannis, JV and assets from demar trade.

                        • Lots of impactful games on the schedule tonight:

Charlotte @ Indiana - the Hornets are almost out of the 'lottery pack' of teams in the EC, as just 4 games separate 3rd (Boston) and 9th (Charlotte), who have a 2 game cushion over 10th (Washington)

Orlando VS San Antonio - the Magic are 2 games clear of NY for 11th, and this is one of the 4 games they have in-hand (0-4 and they'd be tied with NY)

Sacramento @ Philadelphia - good opportunity for the Kings (10th) to extend their lead over Denver (could go from 0.5 to 1.5 games tonight)

Denver @ Detroit - double-whammy game; Detroit needs a win to ensure they stay ahead of Charlotte for a playoff spot, while Denver could end the night in 10th, 11th, or T-11th in the WC

New Orleans VS Utah - the injury ravaged Pelicans need to pull out a win tonight in order to climb into a tie with Denver... come on guys, do the Raps a favor

A Sacramento win also moves them ahead of NY, moving the NY pick to 9 (instead of 10).

*EDIT - actually moves them into a tie with NY for 9th worse.
