  • We've hit 25 assists in a game ONCE this year.

This team does not move the ball well at all. Only game with 25 assists was against the Knicks when we had exactly 25.

Just to put this in perspective, the top 6 passing teams in the league all average ~24apg or more with the Warriors leading the pack at 29.5.

It's a dribble-drive offense, so our assists are mostly kickouts and dumpoffs...and our shooters can't shoot, and we're starting Bismack Biyombo.

I'm not going to quote pre-season Casey interviews...

This team doesn't make open shots either.

Yeah, it's a problem. There's some hope that PP and Ross will hit their stride, otherwise we'll need a shooter at the deadline.

His point still stands though. This team is one of worst in potential assists last time I heard.

Pretty much all of ross and PP's shots come from assists. If they weren't playing like complete shit we would probably average 2 more assists per game which would be right around the middle of the pack.

Pretty much at the bottom in potential too

See the 2nd post in this thread - this is a dribble-attack offense. Systemically, we're going to be higher in free throws and shots in the paint and lower in assists.

which brings us back to the fact that our system is fucking shit.

Except we've actually been highly competitive with our system. The defense has admittedly been huge, but right now we've got our top dogs going gangbusters and our supporting cast not able to make teams pay by hitting open shots at a respectable rate.

Kyle, Cory, and DeMar, our best players with Jonas out, are doing great in this system with their screen & dribble attacks. It's our shooters that have been a let down.

Better to peak late I guess.

But this system is obviously not working when we can't score when we need to.

Let's put it this way: would you rather have a spurs/Hawks motion offence with ball movement or our offence which is incredibly inconsistent.

Well, it's hard not to opt for two of the better offenses out there, but it certainly doesn't look like we have the 3-point shooting to do what the Hawks and Spurs do.
