  • Toronto-Houston-Denver (Terrence Jones)

    Toronto: Terrence Jones

Houston: Mike Miller, worst of Raps 2016/2017 1st rd picks

Denver: James Johnson, cash from Toronto, Denver 2017 2nd rd pick returned from Houston

    Why?

Toronto - obvious, no? Young, athletic, floor spacing, shot blocking PF.

Houston - clear logjam, return a future asset, add vet with championship experience, get out of luxury tax.

Denver - get their 2nd round pick back for basically free as Raps pay rest of JJ salary.

I like the trade idea for us but how do you trade the worst of the Raptors 2016/2017 pick? I'm guessing top something protected?

We'd have either a very unhappy Patterson or very unhappy scola

Patterson is already playing off bench.

        Scola is UFA this summer.

And maybe Casey just replaces JJ with Jones in the doghouse while driving down Jones' value this summer - lol

But as long as they win, nobody complains....at least not publicly and those who complain privately are usually outsiders on a team anyways.

You would have to probably sweeten the pot for Houston, they are in a win now mode (still thinking that once in the playoffs the team will bounce back) and they may not be keen on developing another player that will need playing time to develop.

Send em Scola. He's an expiring and he fits they're win now mindset.

Maybe not, but they might however be keen on getting a rotation player from the draft who they only have to pay a couple million when they know they need to give Dwight close to $30M with increases this offseason. And that both DMo and TJones are due for paydays.
