The bobcats have a number of players we may be interested in:
Tyson Chandler: A good defensive centre to pair up alongside Bargnani. His $12.75 million contract expires in 2011, so if things don't work out we can move him at the deadline or hold on to the cap space.
Tyrus Thomas: Slowly improving power forward that could also play alongside Bargs. He'd need to be sign-and-traded so we could play with how his contract works out. He has a qualifying offer too, but I don't know how that would work.
Gerald Henderson: Chosen after DeRozan in the lottery. Seldom used thanks to S-Jax/Gerald Wallace. Has potential and is on a rookie contract.
Nazr Mohammed: Decent back-up centre who has his $6.8 million contract expiring in 2011.
The Bobcats are also looking for a starting PG, since Raymond Felton may not be coming back. This would be a good opportunity to send off either Jack or Jose to them. We could also have Felton SNTd back to us if we want, but he probably wants too much money and a starters role.
Something like:
Bosh+PG for Chandler/Thomas/Henderson/Lotto-protected (or 2010) 1st round pick
seems like a good deal to me. That gives Charlotte a very solid 1-2-3 punch of S-Jax, Gerald Wallace, and Bosh, plus whichever PG we give them. It leaves us with something like:
PG: (Jack or Jose)/Banks
SG: DeRozan/Belinelli
SF: Turkoglu/Weems/Henderson
PF: Bargnani/Thomas
C: Chandler/Johnson
Personally I'd prefer to keep Jack so that Hedo can be used more effectively. Our defense at the centre position becomes above-average and we finally have a shot-blocking presence in Chandler. Plus Tyrus Thomas is only 23 years old atm. I think it's a pretty balanced lineup. Thoughts?
