      $64M for Jonas.

      $65M for Mozgov.
      Jonas should fire his agent.

By "good" you mean his alignment?

What is Jonas' max this year?

Because it has to be like about double that, and that's what he would've gotten as an RFA.

Would you rather pay DD 23-26 mil or Bazemore 20 mil?

Basically. It would have started at something like $24M and gone up every year.

JV's max was 70mm he signed for 64. And Lowry signed his contract before his 2 all-star seasons.

With the salary cap going up 30% these contracts are the new NBA. This deal is fair priced compared to the market.
This is not remotely true. When a player signs a rookie scale extension, they use the projected future cap, not the current cap. His max extension last summer was estimated at 5/121M. But even then, if he signed a max contract extension, it would have been for "the max salary", not the projected number. So this summer when the cap is higher than projected, he would in retrospect have actually signed a 5 year 128M deal. You can agree to a contract worth some set percentage of the following summer's cap, or an actual dollar amount.

It's a complete fallacy to compare his contract extension to the cap last summer. All you have to do is look at the other contract extensions signed that summer (Davis, Lillard, IIRC) to see that.

It's 26% of cap in the first year. It's also more than 25% of the cap for the life of the deal. 7.5% raises is actually less than the projected cap raise averaged over the next 3 years.

                        It doesn't reduce it significantly.
And the cap is only supposed to climb one more year..

                        then lower? or stabilize?
If we knew half as much about coaching an NBA team as we think, we"d know twice as much as we do.

To be fair, DD got about 28M a year on this deal. But I'd still prefer DD over Bazemore at those prices.

It climbs one more year, then lowers, then stabilizes around next years number.

I think it's like 109, 102, 108 over the next 3 based on current projections.

It climbs next summer, then drops (but to a point far above where it is right now, at or slightly above 100M) then starts rising again, meeting or exceeding next year's cap in year 5 of DD's deal.
