Let's say Sully breaks out and commands a salary like Biz's deal this summer. 18M.

To clear 18M in cap room, we'd be starting at 16M over the cap...

We'd need to let PP walk, that gets us to 5M over the cap.

Then trade Ross for no returning salary, now we're at 5M under the cap.

Then trade CoJo for no returning salary, now we're at 12M under the cap.

Then dump both 2017 first round picks for no returning salary, now we're at 13.5M under the cap.

Then trade Siakam, Bruno and Nogueira for no returning salary, now we're at 18M under the cap.

So, assuming we are keeping the core of KL-DD-DC-JV, we would need to lose Patterson, Ross, Joseph, both 2017 picks, Siakam, Bruno and Nogueira. Maybe a couple less assets if Sully settles for less than Biz got even though the cap will be higher. And that assumes the latest projection of a 102M cap - if the CBA negotiations take out the artificial second jump (and you can bet the owners will push for that), we'll have even less cap room.

If he plays up to his potential he is worth it. At some point Masai has to make a decision between Cojo and Wright. I think he goes with the cheaper option. Ross some how already survived this off season don't see him doing it next year. 2pat is nice but he is a career back up. The name we need to keep an eye on is Carroll. He needs to have a big year for us or he might be gone next summer as well. We drafted Bruno to be our started at some point. Lots of options.

I could see Ross and 2pat gone by next year as well as Carroll. I don't believe Masai can make a decision yet on Cojo and Wright based on finance alone since Wright has not done anything yet and Kyle Lowry is also a free agent.
