defense is a team concept genius. it starts from the top and works its way down. bringing in 1 guy that's a semi-good defender doesn't suddenly make you a good defensive team.

The point is that it has to start from the GM and the coaching staff believing in the idea and designing an effective system. After that you bring in solid defenders that make up for your weakest links. Calderon is a shitty defender (and that's being nice) but if the paint behind him was packed with big guys that'll take the head off of any guard that tries to penetrate to the basket then I'm 100% sure we wouldn't be seeing so many guys blowing by Jose. The problem is that we have 2 softies down low, who never take a charge and never ever intimidate the opposition.
