The New Jersey Nets and ESPN analyst Avery Johnson have reached a verbal agreement to hire Johnson as the Nets' new coach, according to sources close to the process.

They could have done a lot worse. Not bad for a young team. He can help them grow.

Avery Johnson: Hello, Devin, did you miss me?

Devin Harris: No, not really. I still kinda remembered that Golden State series in 2007. Didn't that cost you your job?

Notice the trend that all the potential Bron courters are hiring defensive minded head coaches. God help Cousins if he ends up playing for the lil general.

Yeah, I like Avery a lot too. Excellent move by Rod Thorn.

It'll be interesting to see what other moves New Jersey makes this summer.

Joe Johnson would be an excellent addition if they drafted Derrick Favors ... give NJ a core of Harris - JJ - Favors - Lopez ... that could do a lot of a damage. Also, Courtney Lee as the consummate glue guy for that lineup. Lot of defensive potential, lot of athleticism, good amount of scoring options and passers. That would be a really fun team to watch.
