  • LeBatard & Ford: Bosh to Miami (Update on Pg. 6)

This apparently a radio host down in Miami, so take it with a grain of salt.

    LeBatardShow
I hear bosh-miami is done ..bosh-wade shared agent avoids tampering...its why beasley, chalmers, anthony still here...raptors get them
agree in principle...process plays out...pat riley got scorched on juwan howard but wade and bosh are just dealing with their agent

I don't understand. It IS NOT tampering if a player on the team involved has the same agent as the player in question? Given that there are plenty of agents who have multiple players on multiple teams, isn't that a HUGE, GLARING loophole in the tampering rule?

What's the point of even having a tampering rule if it's that easy to get around?

Don't get me wrong. I am THRILLED to be getting Miami's castoffs. Who needs a starting line-up when you've got a dozen solid bench players?

I think its pretty much done.

So obvious when they picked up chalmers and anthony's options.

Welcome to the Beasley era. I guess this means the end of Turk as well.

Yes but unless the CBA is changed to state that an agent is only allowed to represent one player then this is what it is.

It's not that easy usually. The Heat were fortunate enough in that Wade is good friends with Bosh and they share the same agent.

I was almost certain this morning that the Raptors were getting nothing. Beasley, Chalmers and Anthony is a lot better than nothing. The Raptors get a backup center, a backup PG and a forward who can handle and finish with both hands... To me Beasley could get by at SF for now and if he doesn't work out they can let him walk after next season. Here's to hoping they can leech their draft pick back. Also, if all this is true then at least one current Raptors PG must be moved ASAP.

              "beasley, chalmers, anthony"

Are we getting all of them back ?? What happened to trade exception ? What are we going to do with Chalmers !! sit him beside banks, another useless PG we got from heat, on the bench.

Does getting Anthony means we will not get Gortat ?

I was hoping it is only beasly and draft picks coming back.

Does it matter that they're friends, or does the rule just say that if a player on the team and the player in question have the same agent then it's not tampering?

The Raps already have two backup centres and three backup PGs.
Given that Turk may be gone, Beasley becomes starting SF by default, but from your tone I get the idea that on a better team he'd be a backup as well.

The rumour mill suggests that the Raps seem to be trading for a lot of backups while actual starters sit out on the FA market waiting to be picked up. Wouldn't it be more prudent for us to actually start looking for people to start on the court? Just my humble opinion, mind you.

It's been said a bunch of times that the Raptors are looking to trade Jose and/or Jarrett. I think this further establishes that.

Lebatard is a reporter/broadcaster with some creedence. He fills in on PTI sometimes. This is not to say he has it right but he is longtime Miami based.

Who knows maybe Beasley will want to prove something away from Wade but BC better read him a few rules first.

Beasley is NOT a SF. He is as much a SF as Bargnani was. He is a PF and if they try and play him out of position it will only further serve to screw up this team even more. If they are going to trade for Beasley then they have to play him at his natural position.

Am I the only one who doesn't understand, in this cotton-pickin' shamtacular madness that has become the NBA 2010 free-agency, why on earth Bosh would choose Miami over Chicago?

The Bulls lack precisely the position Bosh plays, but have an all-star PG, an emerging and defensively oriented all-star C, the ability to have him be the #1 offensive option and buckets of cap space to bring in other players (cough, Johnson, cough). The Heat have...Dwayne Wade and a bit more cap space. They also have beach sluts and soon to be oil and corexit infused poison hurricanes.

I don't buy this Bosh to Miami nonsense. In any scenario that Bosh should envision for himself and his future, his role and his desire to win (according to what he's said about such things); maintaining the integrity of the league, as well as not burning bridges with his past, it doesn't make sense to go anywhere else but Chicago.

We could do a lot worse for a S&T. I'm pretty happy with it actually. Bit of a log jam at the F/C spots but we could have worse problems.

                              Don't know what 2 say;;;

This is brutal..we get cast off...
They must have another trade in the works..probably more than one trade..
                              Micheal Beasley..doesent fit raptors
                              Hedo Turkoglu..doesent fit raptors
                              Jose Calderon..doesent fit raptors

Only reason he does this is...gets the trade exception which is huge, try 2 get another max free agent...
