      Via Paul Coro's twitter:

Turkoglu is agreeing to yield about $5M of his trade kicker & reduce the guarantee on his deal's final year ($12M in 2013-14)

Great deal for the Raps. Barbosa isn't perfect by any means, but he can be an explosive scorer. He's also cheaper than Hedo and only signed through next year.

We even saved just around 3 mill for the first year, no? BC made this move to trigger another for sure. Probably another SF to sign and one of the PGs go, for another PG. Let's see what happens.

Yeah, ppl elsewhere made a good point that this allows us to use more of our TPE and stay under the lux tax at the same time.

Barbosa is an SG? doesn't that mean he will "undermine" Derozen development?
The Suns have a $12M TPE.

I imagine ppl are happy over getting back a shorter and cheaper contract mostly.

38 mil guaranteed/4 yrs vs 14.7 mil/2 (assuming barbosa picks up option)

Turk's a better player than Barbosa, but the Raps are getting rid of a guy who underperformed and caused the organization and fans a lot of grief. The Raps get a serviceable player but I think the best part is they get flexibility for the future (after the 2011/12 season).

Think of it as Kleiza and Barbosa for Turk. Kleiza is 25, and Barbosa is 27, with a contract that expires in a couple of years. Suns want to try to win now (for Nash), Raptors are building for the future. This provides tons of financial flexibility for the Raptors in case another team is willing to trade talent for financial relief.

This is making the rounds lately - I think most Raptors fans will be feeling the same way when they hear the news:
