If Colangelo could pry Ilyasova from the Bucks for Bargs, I'd never speak a bad word of him again. Not only would we get the better player, the Bucks would become worse and give us a better chance of catching them!!

AB is no spark of the bench. Last night he had 3 chances for a rebound in a sequence and got zero. He did have a block in this sequence but Knicks eventually scored. He gives no effort to go for ball unless it drops in his lap. Casey knows it but at least now Casey is playing to win games not appease the golden boy.

Even with the other contracts coming off the books after next season? That's depressing.

If if Bargnani is amnestied, the team would still be over the salary cap and therefore only able to sign free agents for various exceptions. The Raps wouldn't be able to offer big contracts, unless done via S&T deal.

Meh, I'm fine with the way things are going. Casey's not being pushed to give Andrea time and so he can hold him accountable. One of these days Andrea will get hot, and it will likely be a day when Anderson is not. That day, we'll be glad that we have another scoring option coming off our bench.
I don't hate him enough to take back a lousy contract. He'll prove useful, and maybe he'll get hot enough that someone will overpay for him. We couldn't get Hedo for him right now..

Sad but true. Check this link to see the Raps salary situation, knowing the cap will likely be around $60M next season (was roughly $58M this season).

This is reality and tonight's performance against Denver was proof of that. It's one thing to have porous defence, after all Amir and Jonas were just as culpable. But a rebound in 18 minutes is simply the ol' 50 Shades of Bargnani. We're stuck with this clown. Oh, and here we are talking about Colangelo's option. Wow!
WARNING: This post may contain coarse language, viewer discretion is advised.

I hate those inside fucking snitches, media and the 29 other GMs.

I dont know why these insiders keep talking (if they are real, which i think they are since trades usually come out even before they are finalized so you know there are legit insiders who yap), and the stupid media who disgustingly make their money this way and those 29 other GMs who express no interest but will fucking lineup to acquire him as soon as he is amnestied!!!!

I think BC already knows that this will be the crowning achievement of his career. If he can trade Bargnani, i have no doubt MLSE will re-sign him. Maybe thats the stipulation???

Don't worry about the cap if Bell and Rogers are not. The key is putting a winning team on the court.

They have to worry about the cap. They can't sign an UFA to a big contract if they are over, and it puts restrictions on salaries going in and out on trades.

It is unlikely that any high value UFA will land in T.O. Hence it may be better to trade for overpaid talent knowing you have their contract for the next 2+ years.

Remmember? "I'm teams best player" at beginning of this season. Now it would sound like "I'm teams best cheerleader"

I'm not worried about spending money. I was simply pointing out that amnestying Bargnani isn't going to be some magic elixir that suddenly opens up a world of possibilities in the offseason. The Raps need to dump salary (ie: Kleiza) just to have access to all their exceptions. To go after a player worth more than $5M, the Raps would need to do so in a trade (or a S&T) involving either Bargnani or DeRozan, in order for salaries to balance and have the trade work under the CBA.

It is not a basketball decision.

    This is all about money.

If every team assumed that a player is only on the block because he's no good, then trades would never happen.
