Well, yeah, but you know Lopez is a great defender and rebounder who is never injured.

From what I know, Lopez doesn't rebound.
Have fun, Brooklyn
LOL @ Brook Lopez deal.
I feel that much better about Bargnani.
“I don’t create controversies. They’re there long before I open my mouth. I just bring them to your attention.”
-- Charles Barkley

Remember that Eddy Curry contract? I'm thinking it wasn't that bad after all.
I think all things being considered, I would prefer to have Bargnani over Lopez. I like Bargnani's contract better, and I still have a sliver of faith in Casey being able to bring back the Bargnani's we saw at the start of last season on a regular basis. I also think having JV on the team will help Bargnani and JV. Being the fact that they are both euro big men who will have to rely on each other and work together. So final verdict, thumbs down on the Lopez contract.
There is absolutely no doubt that AB is better value than Lopez. This contract is mind boggling. Maybe you could have justified it a couple years ago when his trajectory looked very promising, but certainly not now. I realize they will likely try to use it in a sign and trade for DH next year .. but still .. could have been $10-$12 mm per year (which is still overpaying) and got the job done ..
Looks like Coach still wants Andrea to rebound the ball....from hoopshype Ryan Wolstat: "We’re going to demand that Andrea rebounds, he’s still 7-foot," said Dwane Casey Twitter
The Lowry and Fields acquisitions are excellent for Bargnani. Look, I'll be the first to admit he's not a good rebounder, but why is that such a crime? Rajon rondo is a point guard who can't shoot, Tim Duncan is bad at free throws, etc. Every player has a flaw. The fact is that Bargnani is one of the most offensively talented players in this league, and building a team that can compensate for some of his flaws is just smart GM-ing by Colangelo.
Having said that, I still expect Casey to be screaming at Bargs if he's not giving good effort on rebounding.
My concern with Bargs playing for Casey is injuries. I know he has not had major injury problems before; however, he has also never given as much effort on both ends before. I hope he is preparing his body this summer and I hope last year was just pure coincidence... just not sure it was.
Bargnani still raptor..LOL.
As long a he is on this team,it will never succeceed, trade him while he still has value.
Raptors will regret keeping him this long, time 2 move on...
Let's not forget all bigs are overpaid and Brooke was a 10th pick, only 24. He is getting paid for his 7footer game even if it is little bit on the high side. DeAndre jordan's contract comes to mind. Bargnani is getting paid for his SG skill set. and he is getting paid like an elite shooter.

put this here just for the one bit about bargs. it is about felton over lin and how much better lin is. didn't know bargs goes to the line on iso plays more than any other player in the league. based on that they put his name first there but it might be alphabetical.
