May as well throw in Wade and Bosh to make the trade fair
At this moment, depending on how things pan out with Bargnani, and how these deals will work between the teams, I would agree, Gasol would put this team in a fair hole for the future. Putting the team in a win-now position, but I only mentioned those players because well, they're the only 'high' names likely. (Although, still unlikely.) Secondly, I never said 26$ million DOESN'T seem like a lot, I said it does seem like a lot, but depending on the returning value, I mentioned the expiring estimate of 10$ million in Jose's contract, which would be a very appealing asset to any team in the tax, possibly even those teams with barely over the cap, to open up money for off-season movements.
Amir + Bargnani + Calderon is a lot of money, but, those 3 in a trade COULD, I repeat COULD be traded for acquiring solid, good assets. Didn't mention money, didn't mention who specifically other than those names, because I was speaking to the trade value. Right now, Bargnani could be pretty low on the market, but most teams will know his strengths and weaknesses, same with Amir and Calderon. Most teams would like to have the very serviceable contributions of Calderon and Amir.
So going back to my comment. Jose + Amir + Bargnani + 2nd round picks could net us some nice assets. Allowing to free up the log jam at the 4, bring in a young guard, possibly another expiring deal, a wing player. Not saying these acquired assets are elite players, just at the market worth to Jose, Amir, and Bargnani. All capable of being starters on any given team.
Scroll back to the older posts where I argue how Gallinari is much better than Bargnani in every way.
I had all the veteran users calling for my head. How good is that deal looking now?
Primo bosses would be happy with Gallinari too.
No worries ! Its super common, but I feel that people would prefer speaking well (not speaking good) so I try to correct them. :P

How good is it looking? Just as senseless as it always has. You say trade for a guy who essentially plays the same game, but whether looking at career or this year, has a lower FG%, lower 3P%, and fewer rebounds, worse offensive rating, basically the same defensive rating. What makes that an attractive trade to you?
Know basketball, know fun. No basketball, no fun.
I'm not saying I'm for a Bargnani/Gallo swap, but the fact that Gallo plays SF (instead of PF or C), would make his defensive weaknesses much more tolerable compared to Bargnani. Gallo wouldn't have the same rotation/rim protection responsibilities that Bargnani is often stuck with.

Does anybody mind that as a mod, my first accomplishment be changing the name of this thread?
I think Hoopsworld has taken enough of a beating just by having that evidence that they wrote that, up for so long. Haha
