  • The regular physical scans did not unveil the issue until it really started to bother him. Only the specialists were able to identify what it was. By then it was too late.

No, your missing the point. If medial exams are supposed to spot injuries, how could the Raptors sign a guy with a jacked up elbow? It wan't until Landry was signed and thoroughly examined that the elbow issue was discovered.
      ... 5 months later.

The Fields elbow issue/injury is a unique one.

Most physicals are not running specific tests on individual joints or nerves. It was not something he had a history with. It was not something that was noticed until 5 months after the signing when his hand became the mandible claw.

With that said, Fields is a useful player when healthy but his contract and rush to sign had more to do with Captain Canada than anything else.

        Right you are.

He was sent to a specialist more for exploratory/diagnostic measures rather than a specific issue. It was a specialist that uncovered the problem and performed the surgery.

Hopefully he is rehabbing hard this summer and shooting 1000 corner threes a day.

True. The thing that got me with the Fields thing is that NY didn't know about it, or at least didn't suspect something medically. I think there was another NY player who was signed to a new team that had a similar mystery injury appear. Was it Lin?

          • Just saying DeMar Rudy, Lowry, Ross, JV, Amir and Acy are all being discussed as part of the team moving forward and are in the circle of communication of where the bigwigs want to go..... Nothing on Fields cause seriously who cares about Landry Fields?

            • There has been no mention of any of fields involvement of the gameplan and the team.
I feel as if though he is one of the more removed players that don't buy in.

I vote to trade him, even if he is good.

Personally, I would only rank JV and Lowry above Fields as core pieces moving forward. After Fields I would like to keep Acy and Ross. Gay and DeRozan are extremely Meh.

My bad. Amir for president. No joke.

                      • Andrea Bargnani, PF, Toronto: The Raptors aren't against bringing him back, but they'd sure be OK with trading him, too. A change of scenery might serve him well. Possible landing spots: Dallas, Charlotte, Phoenix.

Dallas makes no sense. They are trying to strip down as much salary as possible for next year so they can make a big splash in free agency this summer - hence why their 13th overall pick is so available leading up to the draft.
