Default Wizards Proposed an Arenas for McGrady Deal with Houston

Wizards must really want that expiring contract so they too can be in the running for the LeBron, Wade, Bosh sweepstakes.

ESPN.com reported Saturday that the Washington Wizards had reached out to the Rockets in an exploratory manner about a possible Gilbert Arenas-for-McGrady swap, but Houston has no interest in such a deal. Arenas ranks as one of the league's most difficult players to move with four seasons left after this one on a mammoth $111 million contract and a history of knee problems to rival McGrady's.

Cleveland is the team Washington should be talking to. That's their best hope. They need someone desperate.

Arenas for Big Z and either West or Gibson will work in the trade.

Big Z is a free agent after this season while West got 1 more season and Gibson got another 3. My guess Washington would want West.

I think Cleveland should just go for it, that would be crazy.

Who would want Arenas? He's a $111M liability. Tough sell to anyone not offering a bad contract coming back to Washington.

    Arenas, Lebron and.... one ball?

Seems Cleve. is rolling pretty good now after a bit of a hiccupped start. Nothing will happen there now unless LBJ gives his approval. Has anyone checked with him? And that contract? With the lessening of the cap even LBJ might not command those figures going forward.

The Wizards have Arenas and the Sixers have Brand... trading partners, anyone?
