    Just wondering.....

If the Big 3 really sacrificed and signed contracts for 60mil/6 years, would it be possible to also sign D-How and CP3 for the same contracts in 2012??

Say both D-How and CP3 agreed to sacrifice money as well to win multiple championships, would this be doable under the current CBA and salary cap rules?

If all 5 players are making only 10mil a year, they would have a payroll of 50mil a season, so they can at least add a couple more vets for the min just to fill the roster.

Setting aside ego and financial greed, would this have worked?

    I cannot see why not.
Well other than the reasons you provided.
Players have big Egos, and they are really greedy.
Just think of the Melo deal, he could have gone to NY this summer and NY would have kept all of those players, but he wanted more money.

      lebron: 6 years 110mil
      bosh : 6 years 110mil
      wade : 6 years 105mil

that's what they signed for, and to answer your question no that would be impossible because the big three are commanding 14 mill this year 16 mill next and the salaries steadily climb to 20 mill a season.

I wouldn't say that's the sole reason he was traded. Look at the players Denver got in return that made their team even better. The Nuggets didn't want to lose him for nothing so they pulled the trigger before they got screwed like Cleveland and Toronto(kind of...).
