and I meant sign & trade for the chandler deal, expecting him to make 8-9 mil in the first year of his contract.
The new CBA just ruins everything to be honest, but I'm for the idea of every team able to put a lock on their franchise player by forcing them to stay with one team (?)

Utah probably does it, Minny maybe, I hope to hell Toronto doesn't, at least with the players you drafted. Jefferson is not an upgrade at D. With the 2&5 I would be more inclined to take Kanter and Leonard. We would be weak at the PG position though.

TOR: Flynn, Tolliver, Webster, #2, #7
MIN: Calderon, Thompson, Garcia, Casspi
SAC: Bargnani, Pekovic, #5, #20
Bigs: EKanter, EDavis, Amir, NPekovic, ATolliver, SAlabi
Wings: Derozan, JJohnson, KLeonard, LBarbosa, LKleiza
Point: JBayless, JFlynn.
FA chase: 1 of KAzubuike, AAfflalo, DCook, SWeems. I would also look at trying to buy a pick late(r) in the 1st round to pick up Darius Morris if possible.
Salary would be potentially: $50M assuming Barbosa is in and does not resign lesser amt for more yrs.
ADD: I would be very happy with the big rotation, good with the wings but weak at the Point sitting on only potential. Ideally we find a way to get Felton, or look to sign him when he is a FA after next year. Darius Morris is potentially a solid long term (although not flashy) PG, but again is potential. He is described as probably the most pure point in the draft.Last edited by Maleko; Thu May 19, 2011, 09:23 PM.

Ok what about a Utah swing (WITHOUT Jefferson) since we have beaten variations of the Minny pick to death, but still sending Calderon to Minny.
Trade#1
TOR: Okur, CJ Miles (Utah exercises option), #3 pick (EKanter)
UTAH: Bargnani, #5 pick (BKnight)
Take on Okur since Utah has too much $ in front court pre-Bargnani, he is expiring although played only around 140mins last year total and Turkish as is Kanter; Utah is coveting BKnight, and they are not jumping at keeping CJ but we could use.
Trade#2
TOR: JFlynn, NPekovic OR ATolliver
MINNY: Calderon
Then try hard to sign Wilson Chandler.
Perhaps buy 1-2 later 1st rnd picks (Minny? who doesn't want to get younger and Charlotte who could use money?) to select Darius Morris and/or Tobias Harris.
PG: JBayless, JFlynn, <=Darius Morris?
SG: DDerozan, CJ Miles, LBarbosa
SF: JJ, LKleiza, <=WChandler (would start) or Tobias Harris.
PF: ED, Amir,
C: Kanter, Pekovic/Tolliver, Okur, Alabi
Salary: ~$53M prior to Chandler/Morris/Harris ($51M if Tolliver instead of Pekovic.) Morris/Harris would add perhaps another $1.5M each, Chandler would need to be $5-6M. Okur expires after next season.

Okay, I tried not to use Minnesota in this situation, but it's hard not to. Here's a different spin.
To Toronto:
S.Curry (Golden State)
Bledrins (Golden State)
Ridnour (Minnesota)
Minnesota's #2
To Golden State:
Bargnani
Bayless
Flynn (MN)
and our first rounder next year
To Minnesota :
Calderon
and Golden States 11th pick
We may have to throw in some more to get them to bite.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our Line up
C Kanter/Bledrins/Alibi
PF Ed Davis/Amir/Evans (bring him back)
SF Kawhi Leonard/J.J./Kleiza
SG DeMar/Barbosa
PG Curry/Ridnour
or
Valanciunas/Bledrins/Alibi
Ed Davis/Amir/Evans
Derrick Williams/J.J./Kleiza
DeMar/Barbosa
Curry/Ridnour
