The Raptors have been encouraged by their record and excellent play since the middle of December, encouraged enough to take the idea of trading Chris Bosh completely off the table.

Toronto doesn't risk a whole lot by keeping Bosh and playing out the season as a middle seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. They get that benefit, the solid opportunity to sign him to an extension, plus they could also do a sign-and-trade or have approximately $9M in cap space if he walks.

Pretty sure he's wrong about the cap space if Bosh walks. I had a numbe in my mind that was less than the MLE and of course by being under cap by any amount means the MLE and the BAE are off limits.
