  • Playoffs start the week of December 13th.

My team is on a cold streak. Just like last year this time... Dominate start and mediocre finish.

    • Oh shoot, it's my other league that starts playoffs next week. haha more teams in that one...

      • I was skeptical of Jordy Nelson in the first half of the season but this guy is amazing. Some of the catches he's made lately... Damn, this guy is good. You can't have that much luck.

        • Ugh, AP is screwed. MRI confirmed he tore both his ACL and MCL.

          • Congrats on the becoming the Season 2 Champion, Apollo! I kinda figured you'd win it after about 3 or 4 weeks.

I wasn't all that confident in my team this year, my receiving corp didn't perform as well as last season. I've got some thinking to do about my Keepers for next year.

Fun season overall. Enjoy the (real)playoffs everyone!

Thanks Mack. I had a hard close to the season losing four in a row. It seemed like everybody had their best game of the season on me near the end. Brutal. Luckily I had a couple really good weeks in the playoffs.

I'm open to trades as always.

Jimmie, I'd be willing to give you White or Wallace, straight up for Gronkowski. Think about it and let me know.

Props to you for giving it your best despite some of the worst luck I've ever seen. No one could hope to recover from the kind of key injuries you had. You'll do a lot better next year if you bring that effort to the table again.

Sorry to be late on this. I don't check this forum enough, and stopped coming by after the playoffs ended.

Both of those options intrigue me, for sure. I haven't given much thought to it yet, but will definitely consider a trade for Gronk. I'd probably lean toward Mike Wallace right now.

                      My own tentative keeper list:
                      • Cam Newton
                      • Matthew Stafford (would look to trade for a player or first-round draft pick)
                      • Rob Gronkowski
                      • probably 1 or 2 of Kenny Britt, Percy Harvin, Roy Helu, Vincent Jackson

                      • Sounds good. It will be interesting to see where VJ ends up. The Chargers aren't going to franchise him again so he will hit the market(for example, imagine if the Patriots took a run at him? Wow). Tough call on Kenny Britt. The dude has huge talent but his QB's are questionable and he's coming back from a major injury. I don't think he'd be a pick within the top five rounds right now.

                        Comment

                        • Yeah, I'm really not sure on Britt, but ACLs aren't as bad as they used to be (although for Peterson, I'd be a lot more concerned) and he had great numbers in his first 3 games before getting hurt. It'll be a gametime call closer to draft based on how his recovery seems to be going.

I think Jackson will produced wherever he goes, but that will be a factor in keeping him or not, as well. Harvin looked like he may have finally put it all together, but it's hard to tell on Minnesota, and he's been injury-prone. Helu also looked stellar down the stretch, but trusting Shanahan to stick with on main RB is a gamble.

All four of those guys have big question marks -- I may end up keeping none of them and chancing it in the re-draft. If I can pick up a top-tier WR and a top-tier RB by trading Gronk and Stafford, I think that would be a good start to add to Newton and one of those risky guys on my list... I'm really only comfortable with Newton/Stafford/Gronkowski as elite talent at their respective positions.

I think the only undisputed top five round player out of the four is VJ.

One more thought, in an eight team league during a QB renaissance period in the NFL you might have a lot of trouble finding a suitor for him. I mean RaptorsFan4Life had the worst starting QB and that guy(Tebow) was posting 16 FPPG, which is pretty good and would probably land your QB in the top ten five years ago.

                            • Right now, I'd be looking at keeping
                              Calvin Johnson
                              Maurice Jones-Drew
                              Greg Jennings
                              Victor Cruz

and the last spot is a toss up between Jahvid Best, AJ Green, and Marshawn Lynch..(and perhaps Phillip Rivers, Eli Manning). I would have said Mendenhall, but that injury he's coming back from is going to be tough. Most running backs aren't the same coming back from ACL surgeries.

                              • It'll be tough to pass on Lynch after having that crazy season. I'll be looking to take him round six if you pass on him.
