Zaitsev has not played as well as he did the year he was on his entry level deal. He skates well but he doesn't have the strength to handle bigger players in front of the net. He will have to lean on sticks better than he does if he cant move guys with his body. His successors are on the Marlies now in Sandin and Liligroen.. I like Andreas Johnnson.. speed to burn and he has NHL hands... but he too does not bring the physical aspect of the game that so many others also don't have....
Kevin Hayes in NY or Micheal Ferland in Carolina bring a more physical presence game in and game out.. but the price is going to be high... I think one or possibly two of Brown / Johansson / Bracco or Moore.. possibly Khadri who has a great deal can be moved as the Leafs are uber deep up front.
Or.. they do nothing and rise to the challenge....
