  • Harrison Barnes: Is He Still A Good Draft Pick?

Well, I was bored today so I decided to go which up on some NBA news from RealGM and I read some interesting news on the promising SF, Harrison Barnes. The first thing I read was that Harrison Barnes has not displayed the ability to score off the dribble which is a shortcoming that would decrease his value at the NBA level. That's just the short summary of it, but you can read more on the first source link. The second thing I read was that Harrison Barnes’ stop percentage registered as the worst on the team. I quote this from my second source link: "He has the worst stop percentage of any rotation player (50.6%). He's allowing opponents to shoot 49.0 percent on three-point attempts and his defensive rebounding percentage has dropped from 12.6 as a freshman to a non-factor-level 7.4." So do you still think that he would be a top draft pick despite being a titled a bad defender and having trouble shooting off the dribble? How much do you think this will affect his value?

Yes, he's still a good pick whose athletic ability gives him the potential to improve his defense.

There is still a lot of good about Barnes. He is going to have a long productive career.... just don't know if he is franchise material. So much in the NBA is based on the situation a player finds himself in. Hopefully, for his sake, he goes to a team where he can excel.
