  • Toronto raptors all star history...2012 a no show

So it looks like this years NBA ALL STAR 2012 was again a great success. But it looks like for the first time in Raptor History there was not a single Raptor participant in the whole NBA ALL STAR WEEKEND. What a disappointment. Who do we blame? Is is the lack of Toronto Voters? or perhaps just straight up lack of talent..and is that of course the fault of Bryan Colangelo? Its seems like things are going downhill. I hope next year will be a lot better. I just wished Toronto would have a chance to host an ALL STAR game someday. But at this rate it doesn't look like it will ever happen. Come on BC lets get at it. At least start bringing in some talent. The city of Toronto deserves to have a good team too!! #thecityofnewyork (NHL,MLB,NFL....and now the NBA, damn!)

Would've been Andrea Bargnani in the all-star game if not for the bugging calf. Ed Davis rook/soph challenge if he wasn't inconsistent. Demar Derozan said he wouldn't join another dunk contest because of theatrics. "No Props Needed."

Andrea would never make it. With him being a natural position at PF he would have to be behind the likes of LeBron James (Mia) 972,580; Carmelo Anthony (NYK) 779,945; Amar'e Stoudemire (NYK) 281,617; Kevin Garnett (Bos) 268,980; Chris Bosh (Mia) 209,640 Not only that... his game is pretty much like Dirks and did you see how much Dirk did not "fit" in that style of game..he so did not belong there...maybe just to throw up the 3s but thats it. It was way too fast for him, how much would you think Bargnani can do in a game like that.

Ed Davis rook/soph challenge, didnt even make it the first year...And he never got any better. And Demar for a 3rd slam dunk? I dont think there was anyone that did it a 3rd time after failing twice already.

Besides... They were all still part of the ballots and no one picked them. Well not enough people that is. Their only fans are pretty much from Canada. Yao Ming has been injured for years and he was always a top pick for the ALL STARS even though he didnt even play. Bottom line...Lack of tallent in Toronto indeed.

I think if Bargnani weren't hurt he could have had a shot at a coaches selection for the game or the league could have slotted him into the 3pt. Contest. Outside him there was no one worthy of being associated with the weekend.

i never really cared much for the All-Star festivities even when a Raps player participated.

Its better no one got selected, just use the 4 days to rest up.

Rest for sure, but it just would have been nice to see some raptors representing...after all they did play the Canadian National Anthem (even though they always make the US anthem sound so much nicer, its almost like were the opponents or something lol)

There has never been a championship team without at least a couple of All Star Players...Im just saying.

Outside of the Pistons anomaly you don't win championships without a top 5 guy. It is what it is.

He won't be a starter, but a reserve. It's up to the coaches to choose the reserves for the all-star game.
