  • Two NBA Trades involving Lakers and Cavs, and Blazers and Nets.

Well today is the trade deadline and the Lakers, Cavs, Blazers, and Nets have made some trades in the last minute. The time is about 1:53 as I'm typing this and there are the following trades that happened so far:

    1. The Lakers have agreed to send Luke Walton and their own first round pick in 2012 to Cleveland for Ramon Sessions and Christian Eyenga. I actually think that this is a good trade for the Lakers. They have finally found someone to replace Fisher who is arguably one of the worst starting point guards in the NBA. Now if they can get Beasley from Minnesota, they are gonna have a deadly lineup (Sessions, Kobe, Beasley, Gasol and Bynum).

    2. The Nets and Blazers have agreed on a deal in principle involving Gerald Wallace, according to two sources. The Nets will send Mehmet Okur, Shawne Williams and a top-3 2012 protected first round pick for Wallace. Not exactly sure if it is a good idea for the Nets to get rid of their top-3 2012 protected first round pick just for Wallace, but I guess it was an effort to surround Williams with good players to give him incentive to stay with the Nets.

Couldnt we offer anything better than Okur and williams? GERALD SHOULD BE OURS!! Nets got him practically for free.

NJ also gave up their first round pick (top 3 protected)... would you give our pick away for Wallace? Also it has been said in the past that Wallace would not want to play for Toronto (this was a tiny quote in a Toronto Sun article I believe few years back).

I like what Portland is doing. They are accumulating picks and freeing up cap space. Toronto is doing what Portland is doing too - except Portland is better at it (IMO).

Gerald Wallace has already publicly expressed his dislike of the idea of playing for the Raptors, so I'll pass on Wallace.

Wallace hates Toronto. Colangelo wanted to trade for him once before and he said he wouldn't report if it happened.

they resemble our mistake to sign J.O for an incentive for Bosh to stick around. We gave up a strong pick and got a mediocre player that did little to nothing to convince Bosh to resign.

                      No they're actually dumber.

They made the lotto pick top 3 protected because they only like 3 players in the draft... I can't even say anything that makes it sound worse because that's one of the dumbest fucking things I've ever read.

lol Chad Ford of ESPN tweeted that Nets gave up their pick due to not loving players outside 2012 top 3. I quote: "The Nets gave up their top-three protected first round pick on Thursday in a trade for Gerald Wallace. A source from the Nets said that the only three players from the expected draft class that they "loved" are Anthony Davis, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Thomas Robinson." Excuses for a stupid decision?
