  • Snaking is a great concept in standard leagues.
It is the best way to give everyone an equal chance at the start of the year.

The dynasty concept by nature does not give everyone an equal chance at the beginning of each season. There is a first and last place team. Snaking the draft is a step in the direction of giving advantage to last years winners.

There are reasons why drafts are held as they are in any legitimate sports league that I am aware of. I may suggest there is a little tanking paranoia which should not get in the way of fair play.

If it is felt that snaking is the route to take may I suggest that it start after X amount of rounds.

Keep in mind that the draft is the biggest day of the fantasy players year. To a large extent that will be lost in the dynasty concept. If you are in a hole you will need to see a way out.

Thanks for the efforts Appolo it is appreciated . I understand this takes time.

Gentlemen I enjoyed the season . Hope to see you all next year.

Best of the holidays to everyone

    • Actually that is a great point and now that I think about it, I agree. Snaking is out, the struggling teams need that extra boost. Any opinion on how the order is determined? Note that I want to achieve the following:

      1. Maintain competitiveness even when teams are statistically eliminated from the playoffs.
      2. Give everyone something to fight for right to the end.
      3. Help those who are struggling.

      • Also I noticed a lot of people ended the season with a lot of WW dollars. These don't carry over so you should try to take advantage of this more in future seasons especially in the early part of the season when special fantasy seasons can be made with one sleeper signing!

          • outside of the snaking I have no concerns. It is obvious you have put some thought into it

            • I think its good, no snaking though. I don't think people will purposely try to tank, and if they do, we could try to impose some type of penalty? Nonetheless, good season, and happy holidays.

Good season guys. Good luck to the teams in the finals!

It's time to start thinking roster cuts. You all know you must carry over 25 players. That means you need to cut at least five players and even more if you have guys on IR. For example I have three players on IR so that means I need to make eight cuts. The deadline is not set, it probably won't be until July but I would strongly recommend submitting a preliminary list ASAP so that if you forget the worst case scenario is you move forward with what you have now. The worst case scenario is that you lose some players you want to keep.
You say we must carry at least 25, but what's the maximum amount of guys we can keep?
Here's my preliminary list (of 15 so far):
                1. M. Stafford
                2. A.J Green
                3. P. Harvin
                4. R. Cobb
                5. L. Fitzgerald
                6. R. Mathews
                7. C.J Spiller
                8. M. Forte
                9. T. Richardson
                10. P. Peterson
                11. L. Webb
                12. R. Sherman
                13. A. Smith
                14. J.J Watt
                15. J. Pierre-Paul

Kadazzle, I realized we didn't have all the rules in one post so there you go. You can keep as many as you want but in doing so you forfeit picks.

My keepers so far would be:

                    QB
                    1. C. Kaepernick
                    2. E. Manning

                    WR
                    3. D. Bryant
                    4. W. Welker
                    5. G. Jennings
                    6. E. Decker
                    7. S. Holmes

                    RB
                    8. D. Martin
                    9. M. Lynch
                    10. D. McFadden
                    11. D. Wilson

                    TE
                    12. V. Davis

                    K
                    13. S. Gostkowski

                    DB
                    14. C. Tillman
                    15. M. Burnett
                    16. C. Finnegan
                    17. L. Landry

                    DL
                    18. E. Dumervil
                    19. C. Jordan

                    LB
                    20. S. Lee
                    21. L. Kuechly
                    22. J. Laurinatis
                    23. D. Jackson

                    On the bubble:
                    • J. Freeman
                    • J. Maclin
                    • B. Lloyd
                    • C. Givens
                    • S. Jackson
                    • L. James
                    • R. Hillman
                    • B. Myers
                    • D. Bishop

I'll probably end up keeping 27 guys because I'm picking third last in round 1 and round 2 but I have jbml's 2nd rounder and that could be as high as 5th. I would like to move both 2nd rounders for a 1st if anyone is interested.

I would even move all three picks(1, 2, 2) for one 1st if it's in the top two.

                    EDIT:

Kadazzle, I'm interested in Cobb, Harvin and J. Rodgers. Are you willing to talk trades? Anything interest you on my squad? The three picks I'm thinking about keeping are all on the table as well.

If Jackson gets out of St. Louis he has the potential to string together a couple top ten RB seasons to finish his career. His value would be up and he would make me team then of course.

                        • I'm not sure if I'm too interested in making too big of a move, but I'm interested in Tillman, McFadden, and Dez Bryant. Out of the three you mentioned, the only one I'm not willing to trade is Harvin.

                          Comment

                          • Well Dez is off limits if we're talking a Harvin trade. If the second half of the season is the way Dez will play all of next season then he's a top three WR, as in Megatron, AJ and Dez.
