Let's say we draft somewhere in the Top 6-10 because we will be winning some games, there is no way by that time, Barnes, Drummond, Davis would be available, let alone MKG who is not a good fit for us. I say do this trade.
Toronto trade Jose Calderon, 2012 pick, Ed Davis, Gary Forbes,
Toronto receives Wesly Johnson, Derrick Williams, Luke Ridnour, MIN 2nd rounder (59th)
Minnesota trade Wesly Johnson, Derrick Williams, Luke Ridnour, MIN 2nd rounder (59th)
Minnesota receives Jose Calderon, 2012 pick, Ed Davis, Gary Forbes
Raps Lineups
Bayless/Ridnour/59th pick (Dee Bost)
DeRozan/W.Johnson/A.Andersen
D.Williams/J.Johnson/55th pick (Jae Crowder)
Bargnani/Amir/36th pick (Andrew Nicholson, if not, Quincy Acy)
Val/Gray/FA (McGee, Asik, Hollins, T.Battie, G.Stiesma)
Timberwolves Lineups
Rubio/Calderon/FAs (Hinrich, DJ Augustin, Mo Williams)
J.Lamb/J.Barea/W.Ellington
Beasly/M.Webster/G.Forbes
K.Love/E.Davis/A.Randolph
Sullinger/D.Milicic/A.Tolliver
Toronto: They get Derrick Williams who hasn't proven that he's worth the 2nd pick, perhaps a change of scenery can rejuvenate his career. D-Will played well with DeRozan in the summer league, these two can really change the face of the franchise, brings more crowds and we will get to see some jaw breaking dunking from the duos, although terrible at defense, D-Will has more upsides than DeRozan on the long run, great rebounder and good at ball handling besides D-Will is a natural SF and can play the PF position if one of Bargs or Amir are injured. Wesly Johnson is not worth the 4th pick and looked like a bust but with his defense and a change of scenery, he could be a legit 6th man candidate either come off the bench or start for the Raps will sure look good on him. Ridnour is a veteran, plays similar game like Calderon, a terrific passer.
Minnesota: Calderon will provide Rubio tutlege on and off the court, a great backup PG. The Timberwolves have two top 15 picks (they can draft a SG in J.Lamb and a big in Sullinger). They also have an in depth lineups of Calderon, Barea, Webster, Davis, and Milicic as backups. I think the Timberwolves will make for a playoff run when 2013-14 season comes along.
