Alvin Williams is my boy, i was so bummed when he was waived. i will fight anyone that says anything bad about A-Dub.
@jerboat
I have to disagree with VC being in the second line. I went to a lot of games back then and after the whole Jumpers knee issue many of us were ready for him to go because by then he'd still coast on D, jack up a ton of bad shots and had been exposed as a guy with no heart. If there's one thing Toronto fans love above all else it's players with heart (e.g.: A dub, JYD, Reggie, Mo Pete).
One game I was at there was a group of guys waving the VC jersey and jumping around to get on the jumbotron. When they did get on they started giving the tubs down and booing. Funny as hell to me at the time.
Obviously JYD and Alvin Williams (both of them still work within the Raps organization)
Mo-Pete, Matt Bonner, Jose Calderon, Rasho Nesterovic and just for fun..... Eric Montross (remember him!)
This thread reminds me of the spot that NBA tv Canada ran about the Raps' top 20 players...it made me feel pathetic that Keon clark was something like 15 and he barely played. Mo Pete was in the top 10 and he could never get off the bench for any other team...
It's sad to think of the players that have come through our franchise, because it really reminds me of all the inadequacy.
That being said...any time would dream of having a player like Alvin Williams
