  • Sonny Weems

    http://tracking.si.com/2012/06/15/so...ppers-pistons/

    Looks like the Cavaliers, Celtics, Clippers and Pistons are all looking at adding Clarence to their rosters this off season. What kind of sign and trades do you think we could make up with these teams? Maybe there are some parts that would work here.

    If the Raps could turn Weems into anything positive, I would be impressed. Here are a few fairly simple ideas that aren't dreaming tooooo big:

    A) Weems & #37 (& maybe #56) --> #24 (Cleveland)
    B) Weems & #37 (& maybe #56) --> #22 (Boston)
    C) Weems & #56 --> #33 or #34 (Cleveland)
    D) Weems & #56 --> #39 (Detroit)

    As for players in return, there's not a whole lot that I see, but I'll throw out a few ideas:

    A) SF - Casspi (1yr/$2.3M), Cleveland - was pretty good with Sacramento, with decent 3pt shooting
    B) SG - Bradley (2yr/$1.6M), Boston - was on Raps draft radar 2 years ago and looked good late this season taking over for Ray Allen, but would cost more than just Weems (Weems & #37 ???)
    C) PG - Bledsoe (2yr/$1.7M), Clippers - if the Raps don't land Lillard in the draft, he could be an excellent backup, but would definitely cost more than just Weems

      If we can get an asset back for Weems I'd be over the moon happy... realistically though it's possible we get a 2nd rounder back, or a future pick.. but more likely even is we just don't give him his qualifying offer, and he becomes a free agent.

          I like Alan Anderson better as a back up wing player. Sonny is more athletic, but AA has an all around game including the 3 point shot and solid defense that makes him a better choice.

            Haha, well when you give up one of the best 6th men in the league for just a second rounder I doubt you'd get anything for a Weems type player. But a man can dream...

                        Thanks.

                        It's off topic but I like what Doug Smith said about not wanting the purple dino jerseys back and that the Raptors already have 5 too many versions of their uniform.

                            which means in 2016 if he has improved dramatically...we still hold his rights nes pas?
