I really dont get the fascination with Batum.....

THis is a legit question, not a sarcastic remark.
for me its not a fascination as u put it.. im just trying to be realistic with the options & Batum just so happens to be a RFA who could be had..id just as easily add any other rising young SF with tons of potential or a proven SF in there prime.. but whats out there other then maybe Gay or Iggy, Grant Hill, id rather batum over them 3

I'm with you on that tbihis. I don't understand it at all.

I'll complete this equation once and for all:

    CHAMPIONSHIP - HAPPY FANS

    So it's:

RAPTORS + NASH + CHAMPIONSHIP - HAPPY FANS = CHAMPIONSHIP
--the two Championships cancel eachother out, leaving:
RAPTORS + NASH = HAPPY FANS
Championships are like terms. Two championships would only cancel each other if one was a numerator and one was a denominator. Class dismissed.

    Pau Gasol.

Apparently if we give the Lakers our #8 pick and a player, we can have him.

I'm sold. They can have their pick of anyone on the roster if I'm the GM.

I think it makes much more sense for Houston to be after Gasol. Perhaps one/two of their picks and Scola for Gasol? They were going pretty hard after Gasol last year too, from what I recall.

Why would we want an ageing Pau Gasol? I'd rather stick with bargs and keep our 8th pick
