Ross? JJ? i dunno.
@jerboat
I'm going 'other'
Get Jared Dudley included in a sign and trade for Nash.
(Relatively) cheap contract, good d, nearly 50% fg and 40% 3pt.
Dud can't dribble either
@jerboat
Look guys we're going to have to sign Brandon Rush it's just for the best
@jerboat
I would choose Ilyasova. A shooter and a good rebounder, and those are really good for the sf position. We can keep JJ as the back up for his defence. A starting line-up of nash/dero/ilyasova/bargs/JV is gonna be a really competetive team especially with casey's defence. Also, with nash Toronto will have something the NEVER had, and that's a leader in and out of the court. Bayless who has loads of potential will also greatly benefit with nash on the team, look what it did with dragic. Dang! I just kinda went of topic, but! Point is i would choose Ilyasova.
I'm not a huge fan of any of the guys on the list, but I think I would lean toward Iguodala.
I like his ability to contribute on both ends of the court and adapt his play to whatever the team needs - ie: his stats were down this past season, but mostly because he was asked to focus on becoming their perimeter defensive stopper, while deferring to Holiday/Evans on the offensive end. He's a solid veteran who would add great leadership to the young Raptors team, especially if he's added along with Nash. His ability to play SF/SG provides even more lineup flexibilty for DC. He should still have at least 3-5 solid years left in him, given that he only turns 29 halfway through next season. The one concern I have with trading for him, is that he's only under contract for 2 seasons, the second being a player option (which I assume he'd probably use).
The next big question is: what would it take to get him from Philadelphia? I'd be happy trading Amir/Davis & JJ & 2013 1st round pick (top-8 protected).
and to go along with what matt was alluding to, he can dribble/facilitate to ease the burden for Nash
@jerboat
slasher. 2 way player. fantastic in transition (remember those years finishing off AI's alleyoops?) and still has a few years left.
that said i don't know what to really give philly for him. jose and demar?
edit: no idea why they'd want calderon with jrue there
@jerboat
Damn... apparently I should've included Landry Fields on that list!
http://raptorsrepublic.com/forums/sh...ar-offer-sheet
he can play SF for sure
@jerboat
LANDRY FIELDS!!!! http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/222021/Raptors_Agree_To_Three_Year_$20M_Offer_Sheet_With_ Landry_Fields
Looks like its Landry Fields?
The biggest thing here is not reaching on someone we aren't crazy about. I'm not a huge Ilyasova fan because I see him as more of a 4 and 10m/year isn't cheap. The thought of Kirilenko for 10m is borderline outrageous also, he isn't worth 2/3 of that at this point. Deng and Chandler would both me great fits at reasonable prices but definitely not worth overpaying for them. Batum unfortunately would be the best choice but I've lost all hope for that. Unless we find a great deal, I wouldn't mind sitting on what we have for another season (Ross and Demar splitting time with Linas and JJ) and drafting a replacement.
Picking up Fields is nothing more than a move to get Nash away from the Knicks imo. I wouldn't be for this deal at all if Nash coming wasn't a good possibility. Unless we get rid of Demar for a 3...that would be clutch.
