Hmmmmmm.Marc Stein @ESPNSteinLine:
Raps G Jerryd Bayless is now unrestricted free agent, agent Jeff Schwartz tells ESPN. Raps have pulled qualifying offer to make Bayless UFA
yeah just read that too
maybe they want to give him a multiyear deal?
would this also mean that theyre intent on keeping Jose?
This makes me sad. Hopefully he comes back next year still.
This kid isn't done yet.

I would much rather have seen them pull Fields' offer and let Bayless play more backup 2 (and backup 1 in case of injury), but I'm glad they decided to let him go rather than amnesty Jose. Good move, imo.
My sources say the Raps have taken back offer sheet...he is now a UFA.
What does this mean to you all.
If he's offered something lower, I'm willing to have him back. $2M seems reasonable for a player of his caliber.
But I'm sure someone will be foolish enough to offer him much more, in which case - BYE!
Does anyone know how to post their own thread? Please help, thank you!
You're free Little Dawg. Go run with your own kind to a better place. Go! GO!!
I can't stand to look at you anymore (throws rock at backup point guard) I said go, get out here you stupid point guard.
(starts bawling his eyes out).
Its better for him..
Good riddance. Filled in nicely when Jose was out but too much of an individual player for my liking. PG's need to be able to create for others. Bayless could not.
Hopefully Jose can stay on to split time with Lowry. Jose would put a nice flow to the second unit. Always worked well with Amir and will definitely find Jonas in pick and rolls when they share the floor. Jose's positive attitude and team first mentality are great intangibles for this young team as well.

Bayless couldn't have blown up Fields/Lowry deals by accepting QO. May signal another deal coming for Raps.
Wonder if the sign and trade is with the Rockets.....for Lowry. After all, the terms of the deal are far from set in stone at this point. Would be a little anti-climactic though -- I'm also hoping for something big here.
