LOl Jose manipulates his teammates guys
As much as I want Calderon to be a Raptor, I feel like this isn't where he can ever be at maximum efficiency. Calderon would show that he's a better point guard if he's on a team that is filled with shooters and all-stars. Sorta like the Heat or Lakers. If he was surrounded by better shooters and better players, I think Calderon can actually average more assists than he does right now as a Raptor.
As I've previously stated, I don't think John Lucas III is gonna be a good enough back-up PG to Lowry. It worries me if Lowry gets injured and we're stuck with Lucas as our starting PG. That's a scary thought. Lowry-Calderon is a bit safer and better than Lowry-Lucas. Also, Lucas is 29 years old, so there's no real potential to get better. So I think how well he plays now is as good as he gets. I think Lucas is more of a third-string point guard. So I don't think he's worth about $2.5 million per year.
Are we seriously arguing over who is the better backup PG between Jose Calderon and Lucas III???
Train-wreck thread.. I'm one of those losers who comes here to do more reading than posting. Here I am trying to browse through and learn more about Lucas' game and my time has been wasted sorting through all this stupid banter back and forth. I mean, I came here to waste time, but it was for the purpose of educating myself. I hope we end up with a new John Lucas lll thread, and that it can be about John Lucas lll.
Ps. Never realized how much I appreciated the usual posters until right now. I really enjoy these boards most days and learn something new every time.
I like this signing because it opens the door for us to find a suitor for Jose Calderon and strengthen another position. However I am curious to see how much we sign JL3 for because if it is for between 2-3 million I feel like we would've been better served if we kept Bayless ...
That being said JL3 is a good 3 point shooter, and he must be a sound defensive player since he is from Chicago.
