You people have lost your mind. The purple dino was the original reason this team was mocked, even in those first few years when expansion teams are given a pass for being crappy. The days of opponents playing the Barney song in their arena when the Raps came to town are over. Let's keep it that way. Those jerseys make the team look foolish and are downright hideous.

i stumbled on this article from uni-watch, an espn affiliate, which says the raps along with a few other teams are getting throwbacks. read the paragraph under the heading "uni watch news ticker"

I few weeks ago on the Raptors official PR Twitter feed, somebody asked them about alternate jerseys and they confirmed that when a team uses an alternate jersey they must use it for 2 seasons (or possibly 3, I can't recall), per league rules.

I think it's to prevent teams from introducing new 3rd jerseys every season just to make money. If fans buy a 3rd jersey, at least it will be relevant for 2/3 seasons.

lol fully agreed! I totally respect and appreciate the franchise wanting to honor the Canadian Armed Forces, but the graphic designer(s) who came up with those jersey designs and genius(es) who approved them, should face the firing squad for subjecting us fans to them!

Just realized, what happened to the Huskies jerseys? According to that source you listed, all new alternate jerseys must be worn for at least 2 years. That can't be true since we only wore those jerseys in the 09-10 season for about 6 games. There still might be a chance to forever rid those abominations.

Or it might just be one of the new additions from the CBA.
