Ross' skills remind me of VC. Not as polished going to the rim, but has a good outside shot, and is athletic. Ross is already years ahead defensively.

Ross reminds me of a young Michael Jordan, mixed with the defensive intensity of a celtics era Kevin Garnett, Reggie Miller's ability to be clutch and Magic Johnson's leadership.

...but with the toughness of a Charles Oakley.

            Reality

I say to myself first and than you all - that all our comparisons including my own mean squat!

However, its good to see that the pick at its present state is a positive pick and all or most fans are in agreement that BC clan made the right decision. I trust you all agree with this.
Let me repeat that again...I trust most are happy with this pick at its present state based on what we know and saw thus far. Now having said that...when NBA season arrives and this dude sucks you have no right to cry and wine at BC. LOL

Realisticly, his peak in my opinion is basically Derozan with a better jump shot. And to me, that's a solid starter in the NBA. Hopefully he can get there. I do see some glimpses of Jason Richardson 2.0 or I can think of OJ mayo or Ben Gordon at this point. WHO KNOWS...sky is the limit for him...should he work hard and the coaching staff press the right buttons.

No matter, we agree this was the right pick i trust and also agree that Ross will make Derozan better...as Ross will push Derozan to show up or move on.

            Peace

What do you work for MLSE?

who cares what we think? If he's awesome we will praise Colangelo, if he sucks we will justly criticize him because it's his job to research and make the picks. Not ours.

                Eddie Jones

It's been brought up before and I know a lot of people had problems with the comparison but I see it, especially when Jones was a rookie. One of my favorite players he was mostly a shooter in his first couple years but was always a solid defender. I believe he was on the all defensive team a couple times. Not saying Ross will ever be on that list (not in this age) but he's probably most defensively sound than Demar, even as a rookie. I see it being a strength or years to come.

If he can get into the paint a little more I think he'll be extremely good. He just needs to add some weight but maintain his athleticism and explosiveness. Easier said than done. I think he'll be a great 3 and D guy regardless, but I'd like to see him open his game more like Eddie did over the next few years.

All jokes aside...I work as a parking lot security guard at the MLSE Condo connected to ACC. But that has nothing to do with my remark for not crying if Ross sucks....just being fair ...I mean considering what we hear and what we see thus far...at the spot picked he was the right choice for our need.

                  Peace

Fans will always believe they have a right to cry and whine...especially Toronto fans.

I don't see the MoPete comparison. Ross has the ability to create his own shot. MoPete was just a catch-and-shoot specialist.

That is a pretty bang-on comparison. Never thought about that.

People are going to laugh, but I see alot of Kobe in Ross's game.
Not saying he will be as good as Kobe, but I see alot of the same characteristics in how they play.
                            (Jumper, Athletic, Handle, Defense)

So calm and in control, has that icy stare already, its almost like they're not even trying; yet you know when he wants to, he can bite you at any minute. He owned duded at Washington.

(I was just watching an Interview with Ross, and I swear to god, if he ever shaves that Goatee off, Him and Demar will be IMPOSSIBLE to tell apart... except for the Jump Shot. )
I thought Demar IMO was the one to Kobe... Athletic, post-game, mid-range game, slashing.
