Default RR's "What Are You Listening To?" Thread (Non-Rap Version)

No offense to the hip-hop rap fans here, but I thought I'd start a separate music thread that's non-hiphop related.

Been loving these guys & gal lately, The Alabama Shakes. Their album "Boys & Girls" is fantastic.

Another one of my favourite bands "The Heartless Bastards" and their new single "Parted Ways". You gotta watch the video. Talk about googly eyes.

Dont really listen to rock music that much, but whenever I am in the mood I listen to some Tame Impala:

If the Beatles and T-Rex had a kid, and that kid did acid (which it probably would), it would be Tame Impala.

The only rap we'll accept is rock/rap such as Kid Rock, Beastie Boys, RATM, RHCP, Limp Bizkit, select Eminem, etc.

heavily underrated big wreck tune. My favourite tune by them. Thornley is so udnerrated as a rock vocalist.
If Your Uncle Jack Helped You Off An Elephant, Would You Help Your Uncle Jack Off An Elephant?

Sometimes, I like to buy a book on CD and listen to it, while reading music.

I love AltNation on SiriusXM, channel 36. The Verge on 151 is good too - all Canadian music.

I imported a loaded Toyota Sequoia from the US last year and it had satellite radio already subscribed on it. I'm not sure who is paying for it but it has been the best thing to happen for me musically since downloads in the last 1990's.

    The Gaslight Anthem - 45

    Imagine Dragon - It's Time

    Hey! Rosetta - Red Heart

Ball Park Music - It is Nice to Be Alive

Electric Guest - This Head I Hold

Jimmy Eat World - My Best Theory

Young the Giant - My Body

Of Monsters and Men - Little Talks

The Airborne Toxic Event - All I Ever Wanted

Silversun Pickups - Bloody Mary (Nerve Endings)

Walk the Moon - Anna Sun

    Chappo - Come Home

Wolf Gang - The King and All of his Men.

    M83 - Midnight City

Mumford and Sons - Little Lion Man

    MGMT - Kids

Blondfire - Where the Kids Are

    lol... easy there, pickney..

its not an age thing.... maybe it is... i dunno.... but there was a point where reggae crossed over from being socially conscious to being about girls rubbing their asses into your crotch as hard as posssible.. and thats where it lost it...

the same holds true for most genres

im fully aware that statement contradicts the views and opinions i've expressed in the past about life in general..... but whatever....

    im a walking talking contradiction...

i gotta go watch strippers now... peace
