Default Unofficial: piecing together the Raptors preseason

I've noticed the Raptors name popping up in other team preseason schedules. Here is what I have come across thus far:

October 1-6 - Training Camp (Halifax)
    October 6 - intra-squad game (Halifax)
October 8 - Real Madrid (home)
    October 10 - Detroit (away)
    October 12 - Detroit (home)
    October 15 - Memphis (away)
October 19 - New York (in Montreal)
October 28 - intra-squad scrim (Casino Rama Entertainment Centre)

I would anticipate another 2-3 games between the 19th and 28th of October. It seems most teams play 7 preseason NBA games.

I'll be at the October 6th exhibition in Halifax Got my tickets.
The only way to bag a classy lady is to give her two tickets to the gun show... and see if she likes the goods.

OHHH - did anyone take in the fact that when we play Detroit (twice) JV will battle Drummond for most of the game - good time to prove all the critics wrong for passing on Drummond

Yeah.. There are plenty available still. I've been looking into for a while, never been to a pro game, but I'm kinda cheap.. I'm just not into the idea of paying a couple hundred bucks for a pre season game (2 tickets, for me and my gal), and it doesn't really help that I don't know the layout of the Bell center, so idk how far back is too far back, so I'm kinda screwed either way

Hey Matt, I know I have asked you part of this before, but I still amazes me that the Raps are not able to add any payroll over the 57Mil, but the Lakers can increase their payroll to 100Mil with the howard trade. How is that possible?

Sorry for the off topic question. I thought that this was basically what the lockout was supposed to be about.

They have added salary via trades (Gasol and Howard), sign and trades (Nash), exceptions (Artest via MLE, and Nash via sign and trade via TPE, Blake part of MLE, McBob who is now traded but was signed with mini-MLE), resigning/extending own players (Gasol, Kobe, in particular and likely Howard), draft picks (first round picks are allowed to be added regardless of cap), and minimum contracts can be added over cap(Jamison).

Basically they can add salary in any way except free agency without an exception. No longer will they have access to sign and trade after this season due to new CBA. They are now limited to mini-MLE ($3M vs. $5M for non tax payers). Trade salaries will be subject to old 125% rule while non taxpayers can go up to a difference of 150% in player salaries in trades.

Kupchak is basically one of the best GM's in the league - if not the best.

It will also benefit the rest of the league. Even if the Lakers were the only tax payer (which they will not be) their tax bill would give a refund of a little more than $3M to every other team.

I meant to put this in previous reply as well.....

I am not sure CT2010 was asking about where the Lakers find the money to pay the salary and tax. I think it was more of a question regarding how they can add so much salary within the confines of the CBA.

CT2010 can correct me if I am wrong on the interpretation.
