Democrat, Republican, it doesn't matter. Obama picked up the torch from Bush Jr. and bailed on virtually all his promises in the process.

Romney will be no better if he wins.
The president has very little direct power when it comes to creating a change, rather it lies almost entirely with the congress and the senate (and ofcourse the judiciary).

Where the president does have power is preventing changes from happening or approving changes.

The irony is voters put more merit in the vote for president than the vote for any other branch of government where laws and regulations are actually created. (great example would be how many minorities and young people came out to vote in 2008 but so few came out in 2010).

I'd argue the american people bailed on the promises they claimed they wanted more than anyone else.

      Well said.

I as well have been disappointed about Obama's first term but many do not appreciate the fix the US was in when he took over...2 unfunded wars, the hemorraghing of jobs had started, the fiscal crisis not of his making and a ballooning deficit. All of this and an intractable congress whose republican senate leader said in caucus soon after BO was elected that their single goal was to ensure that he not be elected again. A really nice patriotic approach to running their country. In short it was the fiscal conditions in the country that did not permit him making more spending choices to cure/address some of the issues that ended up being disappointments. Romney seems to be a carbon of Bush and will be led around by the Republicans in congress.

Props to Pops though on his donation...always against the flow.
