    Jose assisted on 50% of the field goals today. That's crazy!

      Calderon was incredible. Scored efficiently in the first, then when his shot stopped going down, he dished out 14 more assists!! Love where his value is at!

      Derozan is making his professional attitude seem legit! Is this the new standard for him now? Just great focus, control on offense, good decision making with some assists, and 8 rebounds!! Continue to look for his development in areas other than scoring! DD may be the real deal.

      Bargnani had some of his shots drop, but is so inconsistent with his focus its hard to define his games. He will have a 5 minute spurt of shots draining as if he magically just placed in the hoop. But then have 20 mins of ineffectiveness filled with the most lackluster focus on his rotations. He is the fault of MANY defensive break downs on our team IMO.

      Ed continued to looked really solid

      Amir had one of those wonder nights where even his 3pt shots were going down!

      Val had a mediocre night. Some missed shots, rushed turnovers, and bad defensive plays. BUT, he continued to show effort, and fight his way to a slightly more decent game. Started grabbing some offensive rebounds, some put backs, and if only he hit his FT shots, he wouldve put up some more points! Glen Davis though abused him on the perimeter, and out muscled him half the time.

      Mcguire was interesting. He hit some jump shots, was found cutting a couple times, played some strong defense. The hole at SF was satisfied tonight, if not, just barely.

      Kleiza had a strong performance tonight and showed some life. Though he had some ill-advised shots, he also hit 2 3pointers and was part of the lineup that brought the team back. He even kept Derozan on the bench for parts in the 3rd with his play.

      Great effort tonight by many of our players. Glad to see most of them step up to the challenge.
      The Baltic Beast is unstoppable!

          as a jose fanboy it drives me nuts that he doesn't push more and get into the paint but that's his style. don't hate the guy because he's not flashy like other pg's

              John Lucas is really, really, really bad.
              He should not be allowed to shoot unless he is falling down and/or there is less than 1 second on the shot/game clock.

                Calderon had a great game and the Raps would not have had a prayer without him.

                Still can't wait for Lowry to return.

                  DeRozan seems to have taken the huge step from a boy to a man. Seriously. I hope it continues.... minus a few ill advised deep 2's, of course.

                    Jose taking more shots includes upping his turnovers + lowering his efficiency. I like his stat lines as they are!

                    Past 5 games :
                    14 & 11 (5/11);
                    20 & 17 (8/16);
                    13 & 10 & 10 (5/10);
                    10 & 9 (3/7);
                    9 & 18 (3/8)

                      Bargnani red this forum before the game and he got angry. His shooting wasn't anything special but he had 2 steals, 2 blocks and Raptors were +20 while Bargnani on court

                        Look at all the praise for Rondos game, NBA bloggers calling him the best PG.
                        Calderon has been playing near that level since getting the start.

                          Assuming this was true, how long until his indifference returns?

                          Why didn't he get angry about the blowby's and the missed rotations, too?

                            Thanks for this summary. Missed the game and am pretty torn up about it. Glad to see Demar step it up. His efficiency this year is what's really impressed me. And his rebounding of course.

                            As for Jose, I have to imagine that he realizes he is not only playing for a contract next year, but is also auditioning for a role out of town.

                              Im thinking theres more pressure to keep Lowry out for longer all of a sudden. Calderons play may net us a great player come the deadline!

                                That's why 'one' should never use single game +/- stats (if using them at all), they are just too unreliable. Today's +20 says as much as yesterday's -22. In general they are only used very opportunistically (when they support someone's opinion and disregarded when they don't support that opinion).
