  • 76ers & Raptors: Iggy for Calderon

A Big issue with trading Calderon for Iggy, assuming the 76ers believe they can save Brand's career by getting a pass-first PNR PG, is the Raps need a decent back-up PG in return.

But the 76ers do have a couple of decent PG they could use to make this work from a Raptors perspective. And blowing up the 76ers rotation may be their best alternative.

Calderon, Banks, DeRozan > Iguodala, Williams.

That could put 2 GMs jobs on the line. (Or work out)

lf l were BC, l would definitely go for it.
But then the Sixers GM would probably be like-
'What? What are you smoking, Brian..?'

Don't smoke - its bad for you.

The 76ers can just slide into the lottery. Trade Iggy for cap space. Eat Brand's $80m deal. Hope for the best. Spend 3-5 years rebuilding. (I know Iverson will save them)

They don't have a lot of options. Maybe they get talked into trying to fix what's broken.

I hear Houston would like T-Mac for Iggy or Boston - Allen for Iggy (Except neither wants Brand or Dalembert to match salaries - shocking) That does create a nice trip to the lottery and starts the 76er rebuilding process. Who likes winning anyway.

Maybe its our time to finally rape someone else, and leaving them crying in a gutter like what happened to us when dealing VC and T-MAC. Maybe the 76ers GM got his stash from Grunwald and Babcock. Ideas like this can work when a team is falling apart at the deadline. For once its just nice to be a buyer rather than seller, which has been our callingcard in the past.

Your post is ironic. The current Philly gm was the asst. to Rod Thorn at the Nets when the VC deal went down. In all probability he made the first call to Babby to soften him up before Thorn swooped in to slice Rob's jugular and seal the deal.
