Raptors trade Jose Calderon and Aaron Gray for Al Jefferson and Earl Watson.
Mo Williams could be injured for awhile so Utah could clearly use Jose's services. Plus this trade would give the Jazz a more balanced frontcourt.
For us, Al Jefferson is a really good post player. His contract ends up at the end of the season; we could try to resign him, but if it's not possible it's not the end of the world. Also, we still don't know how much time JV will be out. Watson is a good backup, and it would give Lowry the starting role.
I guess this trade would help us in the short term and it's the same for Utah. If we want to give a shot at the playoffs this year, it would be a great trade IMO. That is assuming we amnesty Bargnani or trade him...
Raptors trade Andrea Bargnani and Quincy Acy for Daequan Cook and Greg Smith.
Gives Houston another scoring threat to go along with Harden and Lin. Gives us another good shooter and a young post player who have been really good this season. Gives maybe an opportunity for Acy to show he can play.
