    Gay and DeRozan are LEGIT!

Gay, DeRozan, Ross, Kyle and Amir hang out a lot thats team building, I dont think anyone took that kind of lead chemistry wise in Raptor land since well ever. Fields just hangs with his girl everyday.
Team chemistry is nice but in a professional league is it really that critical? It's not like these guys are in College or High School. OKC traded Harden who everyone thought was nuts because of his chemistry with Durant/Westbrook, yet OKC is half game out of first in the West.

The Raptors have chemistry yet they are 14 games from just being at .500.

You need guys on your team that are talented, want to win and will play hard. Whether they are friends or not off the court doesn't really matter.

If we had our current line p to start the season it would have been a much different story Id expect the Raps hovering around 6-7 spot. Talent matters moreobviously but the team getting along well is never a bad thing either.

And Above all no silly pg controversy.

Default Why is no one complaining about Gay's terrible shooting % and shots?

    Rudy Gay 24.0 PT .347 of 24.5 FG .929 of 7.0 FT .111 of 4.5 3P 8.5/2.0 RB 2.5 AS 1.0 BL 4.5 ST 2.0 TO 4.0 PF 42.6 MN 2/2 GS (last 2 games)
    Rudy Gay 14 PT 6-16 FG 2-2 FT 0-3 3P 8/3 RB 3 AS 1 BL 2 ST 1 TO 0 PF 34 MN (06:47 4th*, Hornets)
If that was Bargs the whole forum would have been exploding.

    I think that's pretty obvious.

    1. It hasn't been 7 years.
    2. It's a 3-2 record over his 5 games (assuming we close out this game against NO).
    3. Game winner in one his bad shooting games.
    4. In his two bad shooting games he has had 17 rebounds, 9 steals and 2 blocks.
    5. In his two bad shooting games he got to the line 14 times, hitting 13.
    6. He's playing engaged!
    7. btw, the current game isn't looking to end that bad percentage wise, right now 8/18, not bad at all.

And probably there are some more points to be made. There is no comparison, none whatsoever.

I'll flip it out to the other side of it -- the reason the whole forum would explode if those were Bargs numbers is because offense is all he has. He does nothing else. If he can't do well offensively, he might as well not be playing in the NBA.

That in itself should answer why we don't go nuts over Gay shooting bad. He brings so much more.

He has played well, and bounced back on the next shot... yes today he had some head scratchers, but in the end he played himself out of the funk. He also still draws defenders and allows others to get open looks. Not to mention his defensive presence.

Defense, Rebounding, Clutch ability, Leadership, and Consistency. You can trust him to score when the offense is stale a lot more than when you trust Andrea.

I think we will see Rudy get more comfortable with the system and find easier shots.

    +1

Basically what he said. Gay brings so much more to the table then Barg does.

Now that I see Gay's game live, the shots that REALLY bug me are the crazy amount of 3s he's attempted. Just far too many...maybe he is a better shooter than this, but he's not having a great season shooting so he needs to cut that down.

A lot of the 2s I'm ok with. A lot of the tougher ones he has to take, and him doing so is a better option than Demar or Bargs. He could maybe stand to get a few more trips to the line, but he also has a tendency to just try and finish over guys with his length, and he's been somewhat effective with that.

Gay is a threat and always has to be guarded.

Also when he drives and misses, it creates put backs and opportunities for bigs.

In this game he finished 8/19 but check the stat line: 8 rebs, 4 asts, 2 stls, 1 blk.

Because he commands double teams, goes to the rack hard even though.

Grabs boards, plays great defence. He does a lot even though hes not scoring efficiently.

Gay does more than Bargs ever has/ever will in terms of things other than scoring.

I'm not complaining because he's +29 in 41 mins. of play along with 8 rebounds. Shooting percentages aside, did Bargs ever had a game where he was a +29 and had 8 rebounds?

Jesus, really? Complaining about Gay already. You're the guy who said he had the best time at the party, but its everyone else's fault that you have a hangover that ruined everything. Get over it. Start smiling, live longer.

Do you not see what Gay does off of the ball defensively?

That final steal he did in Indiana was a mastermind hustle play. He scored and instead of rejoicing he ran back to coverage guy leading out for the pass and stole it. That's heads up play and smart.
