  • Spoelstra out-coached Popovich....and my response to that

Spoelstra did NOT "out coach Popovich." When you have the greatest living basketball player (in his prime) on your team, that plays and guards 5 positions it tends to make things easier for you. When you have two All stars in the starting lineup it doesn't hurt as well. When Ray Allen...aka Jesus himself is your 6th man it starts to get a little ridiculous. When Mike Miller, Shane Battier and Chris Anderson are your 7th 8th and 9th man you begin to get an idea that a monkey in a bow tie could coach that team to a championship. Now factor in that they were taken to a game 7 in the finals by a team with three stars entering or already in the twilight of their career, a 2nd round - D-Leaguer they coverted into a 3 point specialist, a fat frenchman, a Brazillian center that can't hit free throws, a sophmore with good potential as a defensive stopper and the series was STILL only decided in the waning moments of game 7. Out coached my ass!

Lebron outplayed the spurs. They didn't even need a coach

I follow a lot of sports analysts and the SHIT that comes out of their mouths because they feel like they have to say SOMETHING astounds me.

1.) I don't think this guy is an idiot. I just think he said something incredibly stupid in this case. I'm sure Einstein stubbed his toe once or twice.

2.) An attempt at publicly shaming them into thinking next time.

If Pop had LeBron James the game wouldn't have been close. LeBron's play overpowered the best coach in the league's game plan and multiple adjustments.

If Spoelstra coached the Raptors he would be out of the league within three years, trying to get on somewhere as an assistant.

So you think Spoelstra would save the Raptors, huh? You think he would come here, coach that crap team and leave later without being covered in crap himself?

Spoelstra is definitely undervalued as a coach, but this is straight-up blasphemy.

Did anyone notice that Lebron shot exceptionally well from distance last night? That is the only reason they won, the spurs defended the way they wanted, and Lebron made them pay when it mattered the most. Oh that, and Ginobili's exceptional passing over the last two games. And Wade hitting some outside shots too certainly helped.

NOBODY can out coach Pop. Perhaps the only good thing Spoelstra did was recognizing that his best lineup didn't include Bosh or Wade (Birdman, Lebron, Battier, Allen, Chalmers), and playing that lineup enough to prevent the Spurs from acquiring a large lead late in the game. Miami would not have survived another game 6, and even though Bosh did a great job keeping the ball out of Duncans hands in the post and Wade hit outside shots, they were lucky.

I still think both Indy and the Spurs are better TEAMS than the Heat, but the Heat's victory supports the "you need a superstar" to win theory, as much as I hate to admit it.

Gotta give props to Kawhi, that dude can ball, fantastic all around player and only at 21. Does anyone else think that if Demar was a Spur, he'd be living up to the expectations that Raps fans currently have of him?

He was asked to coach LeBron James, D-Wade and Chris Bosh, three guys who were highly motivated and apart of the Heat by their own plan. These three guys essentially are the on court leaders. Tell me what coach in the league couldn't have success with them? I would argue this Heat team is the ideal location for just about any coach in the league.

Tell me, if he was coaching the Raptors last season, what is their record? How many points do they score, how many do they give up and how did he overcome their vast weaknesses with his superior coaching abilities?
