66% FG! That's a great stat. As is the 1.7 blocks in just 21 minutes.

still dont know how he dropped so low to us.....only 21 mpg and hes second on our team in rebounding thats simply beast and ive been pretty pleased with how he sees the floor, hes just a few post up moves and a jump shot away from being a real threat

My guess is teams letting need out weigh overall talent.

He has the potential to be everything the Raptors have not seen since the days of Antonio Davis, Keon Clark, Oak and JYD clogging the paint. If only they could clone a bigger version of him to play center by his side.

Have to keep in mind that alot of teams hadn't seen him play for about 6 months as well. While all those other guys were showing off in the NCAA tournament, Ed Davis was being forgotten about because of his wrist injury.

And I don't think he needs to be taller necessarily to play the 5. Look at Big Ben. As long as Davis shows the heart and tenacity to be an inside presense, he'll do whatever he wants down there.

He needs to get a whole lot stronger if he wants to play big minutes at center.

He's bulking up too, give him another 25 lbs, lean muscle, this dude will be a menace down low. Reggie-lite on the boards, but with better mobility, athleticism, and offensive prowess

exactly hes got a bit of all theyre qualities in him and hes soo long he doesnt need to blockas many shots by the amount of them that he alters, and adding a bit a muscle to his frame wouldnt hurt his potential is sky high.....

lol and youre right i can just imagine a blake griffin or a kevin love and davis tandem would be a constant double threat

no he can deffinately play the 5 for sure antanio davis was our part-time center and he was only 6'9 and joahkim noah basically the same build as ed and he does just fine so if he adds a bit to his frame he be able to do alot there.

plus i think eds style of play is more suited at the 5 since hes way more effective closer to the basket.

Paired with Bargs, it doesn't really matter if you consider him a 4 or a 5. He'll be the one in the paint while Bargs is a little bit further from the basket, angling for a drive or a jumper. Is Bargs the 5 or the 4? Who cares? I think Bargs and Davis are much more complementary players than Bargs and Bosh were. Hopefully Davis reaches his potential.

How about trading Bargs, and getting some real help

9 game sample size... not very statistically significant but it is what it is. Some thoughts:

                          - Not a 6 rbs a night guy. Either gets ~9 rbs or ~3 rbs. 4 out of 9 games with 2 or less rbs. Matter of consistency.
                          - Picks up fouls almost as quickly as Amir. 2 games with 5 fouls (in 18/24 minutes).
                          - Raptors only won 2 games in January.
                          - With a depleted rotation Davis should be averaging more minutes, especially with defensive liabilities.
                          - Not looking much at the points. His offense is raw like sushi.

How is it that there is one of these in EVERY thread? Ridiculous.

They definitely are. Bargs + Bosh was one of the worst big man combos in the league. Their strengths and weaknesses were too similar. No team is going far with 2 guys whose games are so alike.
