No I want Mike Miller off the bench, sign him for 1+1 for MLE like salary. He is better than Salmons, plus he doesn't need his shoes to shoot 3s. He rebounds, he can not play defense, neither can DD, or Salmons, but he can play the 2 and 3 position as a sixth man, he is worth it.
Mike Miller has also had many nagging physical issues over recent years, though astonishingly he dressed for all 82 games last season.

But I bring this up because it was a big issue with Salmons, and not something I want to deal with again. You could still count on Miller to at least shoot the 3 well, but he'll be bad by his own standards if he's gotta play hurt for stretches.

Just not a realistic option for any signifcant role. Maybe as the 4th wing at best and shooting specialist...but that's basically what Novak is as well. He certainly isn't the guy you want in Salmons' role from last year, as first wing off the bench.

I think you have to take Landry or Thompson for any discussion.
Can't really see anyone wanting either of those contracts. But you might be right.

Carl Landry's contract is pretty bad but he's a decent player. He was injured all of last season but the year before that he was a key player off the bench for the Warriors along with Jarrett Jack.

I think Landry's a decent player, and even thought he might be a good fit for Toronto in free agency last year, but coming off a season lost to injury, no one is going to trade for him until at least during the season, when they can see how he looks now.

Still would take Mike miller even if he played 50-55 games. If you want a scorer there is nick young the western conference version of JR Smith

Nick Young is like goofy stupid though, whereas JR Smith is just detrimental stupid.

Any thoughts on Marvin Williams? He never lived up to being a #2 overall pick, but he just turned 28 and could be a nice fit. Nice size at 6'9", brings decent rebounding and solid defense, not a bad 3 point shooter as well. I could see him used as a starter but playing less minutes than Ross overall. He should be pretty cheap.

Williams is basically a perfectly healthy Fields.

Signing James Johnson killed the idea anyways but Aminu signing in Dallas officially seals the deal.

He signed for $2.1m with year two a player option.

Is it 2.1m per year? That's a terrible contract if it is the case.

If it was per year, how would that be a terrible contract?

2.1M to a player who has shown nothing in is career but physical tools appears to me as a massive overpayment.

Lol. He signed for the absolute minimum he could. That's not an overpayment at all, let alone a massive one, unless you're willing to blatantly break the labour laws.

If he did I got no problem with that deal at all.
