It’s called setting the tone.
In what would be a truly ugly first quarter, the Toronto Raptors worked for four consecutive stops to open the game. That included two blocks in the game’s first 88 seconds, with 6-foot-7 DeMar DeRozan providing one on 7-foot Dewayne Dedmon. Of course, it was setting the tone for a generally ugly game rather than a Raptors victory, but hey, good defense is good defense.

Damn, nice seats dude.
Dedmon was starting in place of the injured Nikola Vucevic and acquitted himself well, finishing with 10 points, four rebounds, and three blocks before fouling out in the fourth quarter. He was a key part of the Magic securing a minor upset against a previously undefeated Raptors team. DeRozan, meanwhile, provided a ton of good and a ton of bad in the 92-87 loss.
