3 Raptors scored more than 20 points for the 905, and Sim Bhullar scored 18 to go along with 13 rebounds, as the Raptors 905 dominated the Delaware 87ers at the Bob Carpenter Sports Convocation Centre. After being down 32-30 at the end of the first frame, the Raptors 905 outscored Delaware 40-22 in the second quarter and never looked back after that, on the way to a 132-114 victory.
Bruno Caboclo scored a quiet 8 points on 4-10 from the field, but with pleasantly surprising contributions from Greg Smith (24 and 13), Scott Suggs (25 pts) and Axel Toupane (23 pts), the Raptors 905 were simply too much for 87ers, who were led by centre Christian Wood. The UNLV product led all scorers with 29 points, and grabbed 9 boards for Delaware, a team that’s now 3 games up on the 905 in the Eastern Conference DLeague standings. The 905 improved to 14-23 on the season – while wins are not exactly as important as individual player development for the 905, both doesn’t hurt either. All is well in the GTA, as both Toronto and Mississauga earn victories.
Up next – the 905 head to Erie, PA to take on the BayHawks on Sunday (2 pm tip time). The Bruno watch continues.
