With the Raptors big guns continuing to misfire, the offensive burden has fallen on others, and in Game 2 versus the Heat, Jonas Valanciunas (7-9 FT, 15 pts, 12 reb, 3 stl, 2 ast), DeMarre Carroll (7-13 FG, 21 pts, 5 reb, 4 stl), and Terrence Ross (5-11 FG, 10 pts, 2 reb, 1 stl) stepped up to deliver the home win and tie the series 1-1.
Carroll’s timely offensive contributions and consistent defense on Dwayne Wade were key, and so were Terrence Ross’s first half points that came when the Raptors were trying to find their footing. The fouth-year man also had a massive hoop to tie the game with 2 minutes left in regulation. However, the honors on the night do go to Jonas Valanciunas, whose fourth quarter offensive contributions and stellar overall rebounding continue to carry the Raptors in the post-season.
