Fred VanVleet leaves 76ers game with right knee contusion

A frustrating game got downright disappointing in the fourth quarter on Monday.

Fred VanVleet went for a transition layup after a Euro-step on Jerryd Bayless, coming down hard after Joel Embiid blocked his shot. Embiid appeared to land on his leg, as well. VanVleet immediately grabbed at his right knee and looked very upset.

The officials handed the 76ers the ball to inbound back the other way, but eventually VanVleet would be tended to. He stayed on the court for some time before limping to the locker room.

UPDATE: VanVleet has a right knee contusion and will not return.

More as we have it, though there may not be an update until tomorrow at practice.
