The sixth annual Raptors Republic tournament took place on Sunday at Mattamy Athletic Centre in downtown Toronto, and for a third year in a row, it was The Super Rats taking home the championship. That gives them a full 50 percent of the championships in tournament history and extends my personal championship drought to five tournaments, dating back to when it was a 5-on-5 event in its inaugural year. Locked On Raptors made it the furthest of any team from the blogger/Raptors Twitter division thanks to having Literally Nikola Vucevic With An Improved Handle on their team as a ringer (not buying “Serge” as an alias), getting knocked out by eventual runners up Money in the semi-finals.
We had a photographer out for the event to capture some of the action. Trung Ho has done some excellent work for Raptors Republic in the past at Raptors 905 and Team Canada games, and he did a great job again here. He was kind enough to pass along plenty of photos, the best of which I’ve included below.
Team Photos (I don’t think we managed to get every team, apologies.)
Throw our guy Trung a follow @trungphoto on Instragam and @trungho on Twitter, and you can find his other work at TrungHo.ca.
Thanks again to all the teams who came out and made it such a fun day once again. We’re already looking forward to the seventh installment next year.
