TOR Raptors 125 Final
Box Score
104 MIA Heat

A+
P. Siakam29 MIN, 20 PTS, 5 REB, 5 AST, 1 STL, 8-12 FG, 1-2 3FG, 3-5 FT, 1 BLK, 1 TO, 12 +/-

It’s almost too easy for Siakam at this point. Hit a big corner three, scored an efficient 20 points, distributed comfortably, and gave the Raptors a little bit of everything to make it easy for them to absorb not having Kawhi Leonard in this game.

A+
D. Green26 MIN, 15 PTS, 6 REB, 4 AST, 1 STL, 5-9 FG, 5-8 3FG, 0-0 FT, 0 BLK, 3 TO, 15 +/-

When he shoots like this, it makes everything else easier. Danny hit 5 of his 8 attempts, and they were pretty much exclusively good looks, as he took advantage of every time the Heat defense cheated away from him, and he also chimed in four assists.

A+
S. Ibaka22 MIN, 10 PTS, 8 REB, 1 AST, 0 STL, 4-7 FG, 1-3 3FG, 1-2 FT, 3 BLK, 0 TO, 18 +/-

Really comfortable game from Ibaka today. Gave the Raptors some rim protection, rebounded well, and played within his offensive game to help the team establish their rhythm.

A+
K. Lowry35 MIN, 24 PTS, 7 REB, 10 AST, 0 STL, 8-14 FG, 6-11 3FG, 2-3 FT, 0 BLK, 6 TO, 31 +/-

Dominant game from Lowry. It’s not just that he hit a lot of big shots in this one, or came close to yet another triple double. His personality has been imposing lately, and the entire team takes on a different attitude with him running the offense.

A+
P. McCaw26 MIN, 10 PTS, 3 REB, 2 AST, 0 STL, 3-4 FG, 3-3 3FG, 1-2 FT, 0 BLK, 1 TO, 22 +/-

Got the start with Leonard resting, and played a really solid game. Defensively he was reliable, and he was mostly left out of the offense, but he hit the shots that were created for him. Gave the starters exactly what they needed and got out of the way the rest of the time to let the other guys get rolling.

O. Anunoby24 MIN, 11 PTS, 3 REB, 1 AST, 2 STL, 3-5 FG, 0-1 3FG, 5-6 FT, 1 BLK, 3 TO, 3 +/-

OG had two huge dunks in the fourth quarter, but it was his defensive effort that really was impressive again in this one. Had a strong game, and had his best minutes playing alongside Lowry, as has become expected.

B+
N. Powell24 MIN, 15 PTS, 2 REB, 4 AST, 0 STL, 4-7 FG, 3-5 3FG, 4-4 FT, 0 BLK, 2 TO, -1 +/-

Great shooting game for Norm, who gave the Raptors some really nice minutes off the bench when he wasn’t trying to force his game.

C+
J. Lin23 MIN, 11 PTS, 3 REB, 1 AST, 2 STL, 3-7 FG, 1-3 3FG, 4-4 FT, 2 BLK, 1 TO, 3 +/-

Mostly a tough one for Lin, once again, but Lowry and Gasol made a point late of trying to get him rolling offensively and found some good looks for him that helped him get to 11 points, which might help him moving forward.

B+
M. Gasol22 MIN, 6 PTS, 6 REB, 3 AST, 2 STL, 3-6 FG, 0-1 3FG, 0-0 FT, 1 BLK, 2 TO, 4 +/-

Quiet statline for Gasol, but he gave the Raptors some really nice minutes. Seems to be giving up his own shots a lot to try to help other guys get going, but might have to try to be a little more selfish at some point, instead of passing up all these good looks.

A
M. Miller4 MIN, 3 PTS, 0 REB, 1 AST, 0 STL, 1-2 FG, 1-2 3FG, 0-0 FT, 0 BLK, 0 TO, -1 +/-

Hit a three late to help the Raptors tie their franchise record for made threes in a single game, and he’s now won 18 straight games to start his NBA career.

A
C. Boucher4 MIN, 0 PTS, 1 REB, 0 AST, 0 STL, 0-1 FG, 0-1 3FG, 0-0 FT, 0 BLK, 0 TO, -1 +/-

Came in for some garbage time minutes and of course he shot a three.

A
Nick Nurse

Nice game from Nurse, who made the right decisions to stagger his stars to keep things rolling when he went away from his starters in this one, to help the Raptors not surrender their big lead and run away with the game. Also, used his zone defense really well in this one.

Things We Saw

  1. Miami was rolling coming in, but the Raptors’ talent was just too much. Toronto got rolling on good looks from three and never let this game get too close afterwords.
  2. Toronto continues to be a great passing team, as they’ve been since the Gasol trade, with 32 assists today. The ball movement was beautiful, and made life really difficult on a good Miami defense.
  3. Derrick Jones Jr. hit the dunk of the year late in the game in garbage minutes. Just absolutely ridiculous athleticism on display.
  4. Kyle Lowry looks as healthy as he’s been all year lately, and that’s a great sign for the Raptors as the playoffs get closer.
